What Next for Adrian Broner?

by KiwiRider
Last year there was a bit of a bidding war to sign Broner up in a multi fight deal.
Losing to Manny isn't such a bad thing, but losing badly to a 40 year old is. His last 4 fights now read 1-2-1 and no title.
What now for AB?
Where does his future lie, considering his big money deal is still running?
Or will he end up in jail or bankrupt or both?

Was it TMT :maybe:

A jail stint and then a replay of the fight where he realizes he got smooshed by Pac-Man. How the F could he be that adamant about him winning that fight? He avaraged like 8 more punches than me each round. Lololol.

Who are these trainers? In camp, all you need to tell him is that he needs to generate some offense. He’s so dumb that he thinks he can win fights being a 100% counter puncher. It has burned him now how many times? So much talent and he loses with all this talent because he keeps fighting the same exact way.

did you hear his corner?
Up until the 10th they were saying you got this, then after the tenth- you need these rounds. By the tenth I had him needing 2 knockdowns and the last two.

Didn’t manage to catch the fight but I can only imagine what happened. Broner robbed again just like he was agaisnt maidana and Mickey Garcia...he lost fair and square to Porter though in one of the best fights of the century.

I think we know what’s going to happen. Broner will redo, re-dedicate and recapture world titles. The gang life, the partying, the women, drugs and alcohol, sexual intercourse without a rubber, that’s yesterday’s news, that was old AB - new AB is about boxing, business and balance. He’s changed now, things are different, he’s now a PPV fighter. Expecting big things.

Gatekeeper.

I don't see him beating anyone in the top 10. Maybe he can beat Danny Garcia, since he doesn't let his hands go enough either. But probably not.

Love the attitude!
Now, can you come over to my place and tell me all the beersies I drank during the fight are still half full please?

Certainly one of these, but not until he fathers several more kids from different women, who by the way will be queuing up for unprotected sex in the hope of bagging themselves a free meal ticket from a tremendous role model such as AB ( about babies)

Broner is a nincompoop.

You don't have to watch a fight of his because the same thing happens every time he fights high quality opposition; he doesn't do enough, gets comfortably outscored and outworked, then claims he was robbed.

He never learns from any of his defeats.

I suppose that's one way to describe him,did you see his post fight presser ? what a vile, disgusting excuse for a human being,i can only take pleasure in knowing he'll end up inside sooner or later.

I saw his post fight comments, but I didn't hear them because ITV4 who screened this in the UK muted him and put up an apologies for the bad language notice.

He's an embarrassment.

He should go and get an education and when his brain has reached the age of puberty, then he should think about fighting again; he'd make a great high class gatekeeper.

He’ll always lose when fighting a top level boxer. He could have at least won against Vargas, but that was his own fault because he took rounds off.

When he wants to be, he is a good boxer.

Only person that lets him down is himself.

He just earned his highest purse of $2.5m and that’s before any PPV shares.

He Adrien ‘motherfückin’ Broner.

His name alone has value in boxing. Unfortunately.

He will still get big fights, earn $1m purses minimum and hit near 1 million viewers on Showtime/FOX whereva..

Like someone on another thread said, he could still fight Khan in the UK later this year and it would be a big fight.

He's a gatekeeper. Losing every big fight. Now he's to test rising fighters, that's the best he can do, he's out of the title competition.

Broner continues to disappoint me.

All that talent but he obviously has a mental block about opening up, letting his hands fly and taking risks.

A guy with Broner's skills should never be losing to a 40 year old Pacquiao.

Maidana made him a far too cautious fighter. Broner was hit and hurt in that bout and apparently decided it would never happen again.

Reminiscent of Rosario completely changing the mindset and style of Camacho.

I hope Broner somehow bounces back and finally snags a big win.

But at this point, my AB faith is shattered.

:maybe: The more interesting question is why does anyone still care? I don’t, and I don’t care what he said post fight. Of course, I watch the Russian feed which doesn’t cover any of that nonsense.

Better question is what is next for Pac, the boxing gift that keeps on giving?

If Ugas is able to pull off the upset against Shawn Porter I wouldn't mind his first defense being against Broner just for the hell of it.

Maybe that Kerman Lejarraga or Kavaluskas or whatever the hell their names are guys who are on the outer Top 10 could fight him, and beat him.

He's just a name for people to build toward something else on now. Doubtful they're gonna ever bother anymore with getting him easy wins, and trying to market him as some sort of legit threat.

Maybe now wouldn't be a bad time for Broner vs Berto just for the hell of it.

Same as always. Flap his gums into another fight. The same people will pretend a 'focused' broner is capable of more than he has to offer and he'll lose a decision.

A smart move would be a for a top prospect to loudly call out AB. Adrien is still a name fighter (but he's obviously beatable). Therefore. I feel current contenders like Rashidi Ellis (21-0, 14 KO's) and Jamal James (24-1, 11 KO's) should work to secure a Broner fight (maybe have it in Cincinnati).

The fight that I'd want to watch would be Broner vs Jose Benavidez Jr (27-1, 18 KO's). It would be a perfect comeback fight for both guys, and the pre fight trash talk would be classic.
