Kerman Lejarraga, the European welterweight champion, will put his continental title on the line against the former WBA" regular" world champion David Avanesyan.

This fight has been announced by the promoter MGZ. The contest will be held in Miribilla (Bilbao) on March 30.

Lejarraga will face the most experienced challenger of his career, at a time when his name begins to sound strong in the United States. In fact, he already appears on the lists of several analysts who assume that he'll fight for a world title before the end of the year, but before that happens the hard puncher wants to prove that he is the best welterweight in Europe. He is in the Top 10 of the four world ranking organizations.

Txutxi Del Valle, the coach of Kerman, emphasizes that they could have chosen simpler options for this voluntary defense but this contest is "bringing us to number 1 in Europe and demonstrates our confidence in Kerman and our commitment to fans."

Wonder what happened to re-scheduling Kelly vs. Avanesyan?

Bilboa is a real lions den too, Kerman is very much the local hero and his support is taking off. Nobody will fancy coming to Spain for this

Huge duck off Kelly. Apparently the,night before he tried to change fight to 10 rounds......Avanesyans team said no then he pulled out the fight. Kelly Said it would be his next fight then backed out again. I do like the look of this Spanish guy he absolutely iced Gavin and Skeete without breaking sweat who are good domestic/fringe euro level fighters

Bilboa is a real lions den too, Kerman is very much the local hero and his support is taking off. Nobody will fancy coming to Spain for this

But I would recommend it to visit, I think there will be some great fight nights with a great atmosphere.
Quality food and beer to, it would be a tremendous weekend away.

I think your idea has a lot of merit but the TV companies would want £10 not £2-3.

This is definitely a problem with that model for football and the reason why the Premier League will never allow teams to be able to set that up.

For boxing though, a very small surcharge would probably work much better than pricey, no value pay-per-views. I'd be willing to pay £3 for this one fight as a fight fan.

Kelly and his team were disgraceful and he went down in my estimation.

I think he first tried to get the number of rounds reduced then maybe pulled out on the actual day if the fight.

Avanesyan has trained and made the weight and doesn’t seem to get the breaks the likes of Kelly get - good luck to the lad.
