Good call to retire now. I figure it was gonna be all downhill for Groves from here, and he's had a very good run. Good luck to him with whatever he does with the rest of his days.
Too much straight talking from Carl. Should really learn to let things go.
Guess George has done all he needs to do. Time to enjoy the rewards.

"I do remember thinking he started off well and went for it, but then started to fade. But he bit down on his gum-shield and picked the pace up. He took it to Chudinov with a heavy assault of hooks and combinations and got the stoppage. I was happy to stand up and applaud him, he'd won a world title at the fourth attempt. Seeing anyone fulfill their dream is nice, even if they are not your best mate”, Froch said.
"But I won't miss him and I am not sure that British boxing will miss him, these days at least. There was nothing left out there for him."

Groves also familiar with Golovkin. In the past they sparred. In recognition of the British, it was “the worst experience of his life.”

It was interesting for George to exclude Adam Booth from the list of names of those he thanked for greatly contributing towards the success he gained throughout his career.
Groves said he was sure “Adam Booth didn’t mind not making the list”, because he “didn’t feel he needed to thank him.” He only thanked those that he felt had “really gone above and beyond” and “furthered” his career. George said that Adam might have aided him “in some ways, but also hindered” him “in many others as well”.
I was intrigued for George Groves to also admit that one of his main regrets was not leaving Adam Booth earlier, when their relationship had “died” and making the jump to Shane McGuigan sooner.
He claimed that Shane and himself “gelled” and that McGuigan “didn’t lose the plot”, which possibly suggests that something significant happened between himself and Adam Booth.
A lawsuit ordered George Groves to give Adam Booth 25% of his purse for the first Carl Froch fight (due to the wording of their contract). I believe the split occurred shortly before this fight took place, after Booth allegedly abandoned Groves (via text message) just before the training camp for this world title fight.
Imagine being told by your trainer via text message that your working relationship was terminated with the same person then filing a lawsuit claiming 25% of your purse for a job they refuse to do, for the biggest bout of your career against Carl Froch?
Coincidentally, most of Adam Booth’s biggest name fighters have left him to link up with other trainers. And I wonder if there’s a reason for this?
There’s obviously two sides to every story, but my gut instinct tells me something big went down between Groves and Booth.

I like the fact thematic Froch is giving him some verbal. Groves was such a vile, mouthy sh1t earlier in his career, he deserves to get it back. I enjoy seeing a gobsh1te getting their cumuppence.

I was the same but have slowly grown to like him. Especially when he’s pitted against someone like Eubank jr. wish him well but he got what he got against Froch.
