I live in the UK and have been trying to download an image of Floyd Patterson from the apimages website . (100715131593)
Whenever I try to purchase this I get an email sent to me from their UK agency Shutterstock with a price tag of £159 ( $200)!!
Now, being a true Scot, ( short arms and deep pockets!!) this is not going to happen.
Is there anyone in the US can negotiate a cheaper price for me, or even speak to a human being, as opposed to a machine, at AP .
Hope someone can help - I'm obliged.

Sorry I just took a shot at registering with AP to see what they would ask here in the States, but it seems you have to be a licensed distributor (which I am not) so they wouldn't even give me a price.

"Short arms deep pockets" -- When I was a kid my Dad use to use that phrase often; as I was growing up I started noticing, if four of us were at a bar and the tap came due we would all reach for some money but there was always one guy who would actually put his hand into his pocket, move it around a little, and then his hand would reappear empty. I would think I got to tell Dad about this guy. LOL
Thanks for bringing back a memory of my Dad.
P.S. Maybe the ridiculous price AP wants is because they usually sell to (for profit) corporations not individuals; I loved Patterson but no pic of Floyd is worth $200.

Thanks very much for trying. I think the website is primarily for newspapers and magazines to purchase photos on a regular basis.
The short arms story I think has a Scottish basis. Its alleged that Scots people are very circumspect when its comes to spending money. This isn't to imply we're mean - its just that we don't appreciate being ripped off.

It's $200 on the US Shutterstock site as well. I know for a fact they'll make deals with large advertising agencies and such, but I doubt they'd be willing they'll be to negotiate with the average Joe.
