SHOWTIME Sports will present the highly anticipated super middleweight matchup between fierce British rivals James DeGale and Chris Eubank Jr. Saturday, February 23 live on SHOWTIME from London’s The O2. In the co-featured bout, fast rising prospect Joe Joyce battles former world champion Bermane Stiverne in a 12-round heavyweight clash. The event will air live on air and via the networks’ streaming service at a start time to be announced.

The SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING® event is presented by Premier Boxing Champions on ITV in the U.K. and promoted by Poxon Sports. The co-feature bout is promoted in association with Ringstar Sports and Don King Productions.

DeGale (25-2-1, 15 KOs) and Eubank (27-2, 21 KOs) will finally settle their long-running score when the two outspoken rivals finally go toe-to-toe in front of the excitable hometown London crowd in the all-British affair.

Looks like Showtime or FOX will pick up all the ITV PBC fights.

I've got a feeling that Eubank Jr will take this on points.

I think DeGale is en route to being shot and that obviously favours Eubank Jr; if DeGale was anywhere near his best, he'd comfortably beat Eubank Jr, but I don't think he is.

I find it morally reprehensible to back Eubank jr. Hes not a worldclass fighter. Supporting him would be enabling to his delusions, I’m not an enabler!

However - given his last two performances de gale most likely has slipped from world class fighter...considerably.

Even though he got trapped and was stationary agaisnt Truax I think he should have enough ability just by being DeGale to move and box Eubank to a decision.

Crossroads bout for James DeGale, he might want to think about taking this seriously.
His boxing ability is on the line here, he loses that battle and there's a good chance his reputation will take a career defining drop.

If James DeGale has anything left in the tank, then he earns a comfortable decision victory by out boxing a game Eubank Jr. Chunky would need to be somewhere close to his very best to achieve this though.

However, the problem with DeGale, is that he hasn’t delivered an impressive performance inside the ring for roughly 3½ years, when he scored a unanimous decision victory over Andre Dirrell to capture the vacant IBF 168lbs title. Chunky’s recent performances against Truax and Jack have been subpar to say the least.

Even though I’m expecting an easy decision victory for DeGale, I certainly won’t be surprised to see him lose, by being outworked and overwhelmed by the athletically-gifted Eubank Jr.

In a way, it’s a 50-50 fight, with the outcome being dependent on whether James DeGale is completely shot or not.

What condradictions might they be? DeGale wins easily if he's near his best. If not, he loses due to being out-worked.

DeGale is claiming he's injury free and is able to return to form, but we don't really know if he's telling the truth, do we? Hence, the 50-50 coin flip.

The outcome of the bout is solely dependent on which version of DeGale turns up. The man that beat Dirrell also defeats Eubank Jr. The man the lost to Truax, also loses to Eubank Jr.

It really is that simple!

Haven’t got a clue who’s gonna win this, far too many question marks hanging over both of em, I will say this though, watched Eubank jnr doing one of those cribs style vids the other day and fcuk me he’s done well for himself, makes you wonder how he’s motivating himself when he’s already living like that

If Eubank Jr has half a brain he'll box clever and stay safe till round 5 or 6 when DeGale historically gets off the gas and takes a breather then gets steamed into him

Eubank's problem is that he doesn't have a boxing brain.

His two defeats followed the exact same pattern and it's clear he lacks the capacity to learn.

However, he is pretty fortunate that this bout is happening now, because even he can probably beat this version of DeGale.

Eubank a world class fighter?

James DeGale looked very gaunt during the videos I’ve seen of him this week - he had sunken eye sockets and his cheek bones were very prominent, which suggests that he might be struggling making weight.

I agree but I don't see any different to previous fights, he looks like he should and has in the past

The result of this fight (and Eubank Jr's future career) all about whether Chris can learn to use his feet to defend better. Both of his (narrow) defeats were to boxers who were vastly superior in just this one area.

His father wanted him to be the next Mayweather Jr but they both seem to have forgotten just how elusive and difficult to hit Floyd was, amongst all his other qualities. His dad wasn't the easiest to hit either, as Nigel Benn found out the hard way.

Perhaps Chris Eubank Jr should also bear in mind another advantage that comes with being difficult to hit, namely the chance of the opponent getting frustrated and careless with defence.

Everything to gain, but also everything to lose.

James DeGale didn't look too sharp at the press conference.
