Prospect: Arslanbek Makhmudov vs Avery Gibson March 13th

HW prospect and powerhouse Arslanbek Makhmudov will return to the ring against journeyman Avery Gibson. The Lion was last in the ring just last month with an impressive 1st round KO of Jason Bergman.

Good to see him active, but I would like to see him have a significant step up fight as he's just bowled over the competition to date and is no youngster at 29 years old. Gibson 9-7-4, did go the distance in his last fight, losing a six round decision to prospect Oleksandr Teslenko.

Well,Gibson never lost by K.O......yet,that is gonna change.

How much would it cost to get canadian champion mladen miljas to fight makhmudov?

Probably too much for eye of the tiger management.

Hey don't knock Avery. He'll give Makhmudov rounds and leave him in no doubt that he's been in a contest. If I'm wrong you can all laugh at me.

Ok but might need to make it a virtual decaf if it's late in the day. :D

Arslanbek might be the best pure puncher in the game. You want to see him do it vs a higher class of fighters, but I think his power will shine vs. any opponent he hits. When he lands, usually with a thud, the opponents are quickly hurt. Not the I'm looking for a place to fall type of hurt either, rather the I'm stunned and can't move well / defend myself type of hurt.

They've got a nice little HW scene up in Canada these days.

Yes they do. Most are prospects, and many are transplants, but it's real interesting up there.

They've put their champs in with each other as well - hopefully Teslenko and the Russian bloke will get bouts against Carmen and the like.

Yup. Carman has a rematch with former prospect Simon Kean. Banger Oscar Rivas is also hailing from Canada.

Hopefully the winner can fight for the commonwealth belt.

I'd love to see it. HW scene is getting busy.
