What do you think about Davis - Lomachenko fight?

I think Gervonta Davis is more dangerous to Lomachenko than Mickey Garcia. Lomachenko love to fight at middle distance. He is obviously very good at it, but it is worst thing you can do against short oponent who is fast and who has one punch KO power. On the other side, Loma brings excelent speed too and has lot of stamina. Don´t underrate his punching power, Gervonta should be aware of that. I really see this as 50:50 fight.
Where do you see keys to victory for both fighters? I know this fight will not happen soon but at least we can talk about it

Davis looks really good, but still he's a bit mysterious in the sense, that he's not fully proven at the higher level of pro-boxing. Lomachenko did that. He handled some really classy guys, he's been in troublesome situations. They both are very fast, but Lomachenko is more elusive, his footwork is better. Davis is a huge puncher, but Loma can avoid danger, unless he stops being focused, he do that sometimes, when he thinks he's dominating too much. Loma obviously isn't a puncher, but his workrate is great, he can break Davis down with the volume. I actually pretty confident in picking Loma to win. I'd say, it about 65/35. Maybe even 67/32. Well, not more than 68,1/31,9. And no less than 62,48/37,52.

Right now, Loma would win, easily. He is in his prime, but nobody knows what will be in 2022 or 2023.
I am not sure about their respective natural weight divisions ( 130 or 135) neglecting the business side of potential fight.
Anyway, I don't believe we will see this match, because of the dark side of boxing today - too many sanction bodys/belts, greedy promoters and corrupted judges/refs. Sad, really sad.

Agreed. I've given up doubting Lomachenko - I've seen enough.
In any case I doubt the Davis team will allow their man anywhere near Loma for a good while yet.

Another year and a couple of fights against real contenders and then we'll see.

Lomachenko today. Tank tommorrow.
Mayweather says that there's no hurry to put this fight together. Davis is only 24.
It's unlikely to occur any sooner than mid 2020. By then Davis might be ready and Lomachenko may very well be slowing. Especially as a small lightweight.

Really spot on statement!

Sure. They will wait until Loma is at least 35. Right now Davis would be as frustrated as Walters was, especially taking into account his limited experience against southpaws.

..boxing is unfortunately like any other business deal, you leave it to promoters and they'll keep procrastinating till they get the best profit on their investment...

I'd favor Lomachenko to win in lopsided fashion if they were to be matched against each other anytime soon.

Bob Arum isn’t going to dig deep into his pockets to make this fight.
Lomachenko and Davis aren’t going to share the ring with each other anytime soon.

Floyd basically said Loma almost 31 Tank 24 , Floyd said Tank got all the time in the world. Sounds like Floyd willing to wait until Loma gets old..
Right now if the fight was at 130 or 135 I would say Loma wins easy with Tank with a punchers chance. I would love to see the fight in the next year, but I am not holding my breath.

Smart to wait.
Tank's not even a lightweight yet. Let him take a plunge in the 135 pound waters before tackling Lomachenko.

Good fight. Not going to ever happen. Neither of them has faced someone as good as the other. Amusing that loma would win every Rd when he couldn't do that with pedraza who Davis beat more comprehensively. But loma is a god here, to be expected.

Not sure. It's tough not to overreact when people overrate a great fighter like loma. Probably bet on tank though.

One thing very noticeable is how much ESPN values the UFC over boxing. Bob has a contract, so it may mean nothing. We'll see.

Like Mayweather, who is older than Pacquiao, was going to remain in some state of suspended animation and not also age.
Mayweather is a reflex guy. Waiting took a bigger toll on his skills.
Pac was so lucky that the fight didn't take place earlier. Mayweather would have clowned him badly.
And not to mention that by holding off for about 4 or 5 years, Pacquiao's payday probably tripled.
And money is what it's really about. Otherwise Pacquiao wouldn't still be fighting at 40 and practically begging Mayweather daily for a rematch.
