I don't blame him. Horn would run over him. Too big. Too strong.

Ramirez is a fan friendly ESPN fighter. He's fine doing what he's doing: battling guys who don't figure to pose a major risk and offering us entertaining fights.

I wouldn't say he's a ducker as there really hasn't been much demand for those fights honestly. I think they'll happen in due time because the field is kinda small at 140 at the moment.

If anything he might wind up being the guy that Loma picks as his target should he ever decide to pursue a 140 pound belt.

Why is Horn in the conversation? He last fought at middleweight, and I don't remember him ever fighting at 140.

If the OP says that Ramirez is ducking Horn, then that's the way it is.

Manny appears to be ducking Horn. So Ramirez is entitled too.

I'd support Manny not bothering to fight Horn again.

His record will get a little more padding before he is put up for the big guns.
Fun fighter to watch at the level he has been fighting against.

Sure, he might get a good payday if the fight is staged in Australia or something. But I wouldn't call it a career move now. It's more risk than reward. Horn is a big guy who doesn't mind a bit of rough and tumble.

Another fight with Horn would expose Pacquiao as a 40 year old.

Pac still has the superior skills, but Horn's strength and very physical style would again be a nightmare for Pacquiao.

Pacquiao can still shine against non-aggressive opponents. But big guys who take it to him will bust him up.

He is not a ducker ...his managers are. ...Just bring Ramirez vs Hooker fight, winner will face WBSS winner, easy. This scenario can make 140lbs one of most entertaining division

His team appear to have made a good decision side stepoing the WBSS and not having his career put on ice

He seems to be going along quite nicely, he's only 26 and his last 4 fights have a combined record of 101 wins and 2 loses. Granted some of them may have had padded records, but those are the types of fighters a good prospect should be taking on their way to around 25 wins, and he picked up a title along the way.

There are bigger fights for him, but there's no rush for it given that some of them are tied up in the WBSS, and there's special talents in the divisions above and below.

Unfortunately for you, it seems you don’t really understand boxing politics that well. And before you feel compelled to aggressively respond in knee-jerk fashion, by randomly barking some sort of Tourette’s Syndrome-style insult, let me explain the realities of the situation to you…

Jose Carlos Ramirez is a Top Rank fighter that has his bouts televised by ESPN.

Josh Taylor is promoted by Barry McGuigan and has signed-up to compete in the WBSS, which means that he’s a Matchroom fighter (by proxy), with his fights being televised by DAZN.

Regis Prograis is promoted by Lou DiBella and his fights are normally covered by the PBC (televised by Fox or Showtime). He’s also signed-up in the same WBSS tournament, which means that DAZN will be able to cover those bouts. He is in the same situation as Josh Taylor.

Bob Arum previously claimed he wouldn’t allow any of his Top Rank fighters compete in the WBSS, with Top Rank making this official in regards to Jose Ramirez a few days ago, claiming that they didn’t want to lose control over the promotional rights to the events he competes in.

This was the same story last year for Gilberto Ramirez, since it seems that Top Rank’s penchant to retain control takes precedence over any WBSS opportunities offered to Bob Arum’s fighters.

And before you respond, just do a little bit of research.

i agree , not like hes been facing total bums , these were other youngish guys with some ambition, and hes been able to stay busy

ram, reg, and josh are all good fighters still with stuff to prove
