Lots of rumours on other forums/Twitter that Frank's show next Saturday in Leicester (featuring Yarde, Bowen, Gorman etc) has been cancelled or postponed until March.

Bowen was due to defend against Ronnie Clark, then Craig Evans, then Ryan Wheeler. It was Wheeler who started the rumours by stating on Twitter he'd been told it wasn't happening.

March 23rd is being suggested as a possible new date for the card - same date as Matchroom's Copperbox show.

I thought things had gone a bit quiet, Frank starting off like last year

I knew something was happening as Frank and the fighters stopped promoting it about a week ago.

After all FW moaning about clashing shows as well ?

Wonder if De Gale/Eubank and meant poor ticket sales.

The show is not on the sky planner for any of the BT Channels for next Saturday night.

It's not been the best of starts to 2019 for BT's boxing coverage has it? Nor for Sky, while we're at it.

UK takes a while to kick off. Usually around March it picks up.

Could be wrong but Sky Sports have almost driven a "boxing season". Heard it a few times mentioned by them about March being the start of the boxing season.

It’s not new mate. It’s been the same here from when I first got into boxing properly almost 20 years back. There’s very seldom big boxing cards on here in January or August.

Yeh. Sky/Matchroom have no shows in Jan. and just like last year they had the Okolie-Chamberlain, this year it was Garcia-Cheeseman.

By March they start getting more fights together.

Like last year they had Brook, Whyte in March. A JDNXTGEN show, April we say Joshua, Khan Fight.

Any announcement about this being definitely off yet?

I’d be really pissed off if I’d bought a ticket for this and does end up cancelled last minute. There’s been lots of talk of it being cancelled since mid last week from fighters, it’s been removed from various TV listings yet tickets are still being advertised on FW’s website.

This is where the organisers let themselves down. We all know they read this website with things that have happened in the past, so you would either make an announcement that it was still on "despite rumours" or in fact confirm that it is off. It is total lack of respect for the public who have bought tickets, either way this goes. I do wonder if it will get lost amidst a Fury/Wilder announcement so that it is played down.

allegedly schedule has no fights on it! The quality of Sky is dropping.

Yarde v Reeves, Dubois v Conjanu & Williams v Mullender now on March 8th at the Royal Albert Hall, Bowen is on March 23rd in Leicester.

Yeah Nicola Adams is pulled from Royal Albert Hall card injured and Williams/Dubois/Yarde now go instead from Leicester.

This is what pisses me off. The promoter does not let the fighter tell the fans a fight date until he has filled his ego announcing the big date. Therefore costs fans more money for hotels and flights as the date is closer. Then if for any reason the fight is off due to injury or not selling enough tickets or whatever the fighter is not allowed to tell his fans again until the promoter has once again filled his self important state.

I think what the promoters must realise is without the fans you have no shows. Treat them with respect... Without the fighters you have no show... Treat them also with respect...

I aint like posting on these forums but the fans deserve to know whats happening with the show.

I am not a matchroom fan, not at all, but how often do they cancel a show?

I cannot recall any (many) times whereas I would never buy a Frank ticket as its just too reliable. Fck, me, I have said that too many times, and that I say it again, after another cancellation, says it all

I know a few with hotels (refundable) booked for April 13.

Yeah there's going to be a few exceptions with any promotion,I don't really delve into it too much tbh

Just by & large matchroom don't have as much run backs as frank.not surprised there's a bit of concern over april13 though with all that s**t floating about over who's gonna fight who

This comes up on here every year or so, and as I've previously posted, I've had my fingers burned by FW in the past, when buying tickets for a show, and then on the night, the bill has changed dramatically. I wouldn't buy a ticket to a show of his, regardless of what it was, because there is a fair chance it is either cancelled, or you don't end up seeing the fights originally announced.
