Who is the best?

My pick is Saul Canelo Alvarez, pains me to pick him as a drug cheat, but after coming up short losing to Golovkin he stood in the centre of the ring vs Triple G in the rematch and put in the best performance I've seen in years. He's reached a whole new level in recent years and will cement #1 on everyone's list when he stops Danny Jacobs.

Despite all the hate and finger pointing of favorable judging and PED's, Canelo is still the best.

Obviously he's good, but too much drug-cheating and getting his blind granny on the judging panel for me. No one would be mentioning him if it wasn't for his ability to (suspiciously) weigh soo much on fight night and if he had the two losses he deserves (imo) vs GGG.

I think it's gotta be Loma - he's a weight division-and-a-half above his ideal just to make if fair.
Honourable mentions to Usyk - on "who's he beat" and Crawford who I think WILL gradually take over No.1 in the next few years.

No question for me it's Crawford.

as for canelo, excellent fighter, but imo he doesnt have the same fluidity and naturalness to his overall movement in the ring. crawford would never vs someone look like a plodder and have trouble catching up to them for numerous rounds like canelo did.

to me there is also a bit of a programatic, mike tyson look to canelo, where its like hes reeling off drilled combos by memory. that said this is just nitpicking, but at the p4p #1 level its relevant

I think Crawford could outbox Camelot straight up.

Arguably he's fighting above his weight to make it fair too.

Usyk. Who has the best skills - it is questionable among him, Loma, Crawford and some other guys, but resume argument is the most convincing for Usyk. And Canelo had too much controversial things.

Arguably he's fighting above his weight to make it fair too.

I predominantly just use the eye test for p4p. It's not real or serious. I've had bud#1 for like 3 years.

Usyk for his accomplishments. And aura.

Canelo for his accomplishments and how he has blossomed into an incredible fighting machine.

Call them 1 and 1A.

Lomachenko may be hurting himself in the P4P derby by fighting at lightweight. The opposition in his 2 fights were good, but Lomachenko suddenly looks vulnerable and not invincible.

Crawford I'm not a fan of. The resume isn't loaded with much. Thought he struggled to adapt to a big, strong pressure fighter his last time out.

Spence would hopefully smack him around.

Mikey Garcia would jump near the top if he somehow upends Spence.

P4P is fictional fantasy... too subjective !

He didn't look P4P top to me.

Benavides is a B+ fighter at best. Crawford took plenty rounds to get untracked and dominate. He looked uncomfortable with Benavides size.

Whether or not he won most of the rounds is irrelevant. We're not discussing who was better. We're talking is Crawford the best fighter in the game?

He didn't look the part of an A fighter, much less P4P #1.

So Pac's resume means nothing?
8 divisions?
Most title fights of any current boxer?
Sure he ain't top of the game nowadays, but he still towers above all the guys on the poll as far as career achievements.
I think as long as Pac is boxing, no one comes close to what he has done.

I am sure Usyk has to be # 1, he had the best opponents, did not avoid anybody, he did everything without the judges/refs help. It is clear to me, absolutely.
The proper question should be : who is #2 ? It would be very, very difficult question.

Exact same criticism applies to Loma against Pedraza, who was exposed and humiliated by Gervonta Davis. Loma is a future HOFer but his subpar showing vs Pedraza hurts his claim to #1 P4P.

There are only 2 boxers on this list that have taken on the best fighters available in their former weight divisions and havent even come close to losing. Usyk and Crawford. I think that Crawford has faced the stiffer competition so I really think that it’s an easy selection.

Plus I think that Crawford will remain as dominating at WW but Usyk will be put to the test at Heavyweight by at least 4 fighters.

Davis may be worth the label but we’ll never know with Floyd’s motherly bosom to suck on.

I think, you have to agree with me about this fact. The HW is quite different story, although I feel Usyk is capable to beat everyone except Fury.

BTW, if Dagilechia is willing he might make a list (and points system) for the top 15 p4p, as he did with the top 15 HW.
It would be very interesting.

Lomachenko for me with Crawford a close second, just like the poll reflects. It might even be a little closer

Crawford did everything that Usyk did at his weight class and moved up and already grabbed a strap. I don’t see Usyk with a 2nd weight class title for quite awhile if ever. It’s still highly debatable how successful Usyk will end up being at Heavy.

I think that Crawford is by far the best WW. It will take a ridiculous effort to beat him at WW. I don’t think that there’s a current 147 pounder that can beat him and that anger streak he steps through the ropes with.
