I though this fight would happen and am very surprised it did't. How would it have gone ?

Czyz's career progressed much faster than DeWitt's. By the time DeWitt had become a contender, Czyz had already moved up in weight.

As a fight between the two at middleweight (at their best) Czyz would not completely dominate him, but he would have the upper hand. He probably wins a 10-round decision with only losing a couple of rounds or so.

Had they actually fought in real time, in say 1982, Czyz would have won more easily.

Aren't they completely different weights? A middle weight and a cruiserweight

Czyz moved up to CW later in his career. In 1982 he was a middleweight.

I think a lot of people forget Czyz came up as a middleweight.

I just looked him up and was shocked to see he beat Robbie Sims at middle weight I knew czyz had fought at light heavy but not middle weight ...... I'm surprised and stand corrected

I really had no idea , it was a little before my time but I' don't recall anything about him below 175

Hamsho gave him one of the worst touted prospect lessons you'd ever see. Czyz/Ramos was a future thought for a huge fight. Tomorrow's champions, those two, I think bumphus and lockridge maybe Ayala. Don't know why they're the only two I remember for certain
