I fear the day I retired this miserable individual will poor misery on my not so illustrious career.
thoughts on his comments? tongue & cheek? or is he being childish?

that is big character flaw probably shows how he treats underneath him (his tenants from the 15 property he owns etc)

Sadly Carl Froch seemingly has a narcastic, bully personality. Appears to take himself incredibly seriously. Its a real shame as humilty is an endearing trait. Sadly, Froch doesnt have this for he was one tough, tough old school, world level fighter.
Despite his professional achievements and obvious wealth he seems to be threatened very easily and perhaps not as happy as he probably should be.
I think Andre Ward did a short video with Fight Hype (on Youtube somewhere) relatively recently and describes Froch very accurately.

He gave Degale a bit of praise wished him well but then finished his comment off by saying he didn't fight the best of the best and that if he'd met him in the ring he'd have smashed him.
Now I don't disagree with him on that prediction but as always he has to have a sly dig.

He clearly likes to dish it, but doesn't like to take it...... the parrels between how JC treated Froch and how Froch treated DeGale are huge - well they are exactly the same. JC was just off his prime and many were starting to tip a fresh Froch to do him in what have been a huge fight for the UK and yes, DeGale was mandatory (if memory serves) and after Froch's double struggle vs Groves..... let not forget fight 2 was not a plain sailing drubbing - infact it was seemingly heading to be a reversal of fight 1 - it was Groves who was looking stronger until the boom moment..... and many were tipping DeGale to do Froch.
But it was okay for Froch to retire after his biggest payday and "dream" fight, but not okay for JC to do the same.

hes just a negative egotistical person i think, prob started when he was young, who knows why he is like that. tbf lots of boxers say negative egotistcal crap.

he could argue that he faced his mandatory in groves before he retired tho, degale wasn't a mandatory. And obv he had worked his was into that position before JC vacated.

I wouldn't say he's bitter, just got a spiteful personality. He doesn't seem at all dissatisfied with his career. I find him quite amazing, I'm rather hear his swipes than media trained soundbite or hattonesque scripted (awful) jokes

Carl ducked a fight with Degale in order to fight that waste of space Chavez Jr.
When the Chavez Jr fight never happened then he retired.
He did what he slated Calzaghe off for. Except Calzaghe moved up to fight for the Lineal Title at LHW.
Carl was a great fighter but I've grown to dislike him since his retirement.
He is still bitter over the Andre Ward schooling. A great fighter just can't accept he was never "The Man" at Super Middle.

ya agree especially with that first sentence.....you see it in these types, they dish it out but are ultra spiteful when someone gives it to them and act aggrieved. for some reason a lot of ppl think thats 'toughness' but its actually clearly sensitivity.
