i think its a solid fight but it got some bashing here earlier from guys saying it was no step up from menard,..i disagree with that.

ppl just have to learn not to set there expectations based on what bob arum promises

Good step up indeed for Lopez. A European Champion is definitely not an opponent to take lightly. They're generally Top 20 or Top 25 in their division in the World at worst. Sometimes even higher. That's definitely a serious step up for sure.

I've got Teo in 5 rounds or less. Tatli is definitely NOT the "top 10 opponent" was claiming a week ago.

Still a good opponent for Lopez, who is probably fighting his best opponent to date.. cant expect him to be challenging for a world title.. definately a step in the right direction though.

My anti-Tatli tirade is based mainly on Bob Arum's ridiculous lie a little over a week ago!!

I saw some very recent ratings where Tatli was rated top 10 by the IBF, WBC and WBO.

He was actually ranked as high as #3 by the WBO.

So Arum didn't fib.

It's just that you forgot that sanctioning body ratings don't always reflect reality.

tatlis prob lower top 20, you just have to learn not to trust the promoters words. my guess is lopez wins big again and leaves no room for anything but another step up next. he said he is going to fight pedraza this year and i could see that, theyll get ped back in an 8 rounder first or something

Is it true that Tatli has never been knocked down or is it just lying promotional stuff to make a Lopez knockout win seem like a bigger deal?

Tatli was knocked down in the 3rd round of his second defence of the WBA Inter-continental Lightweight title against Italian Antonio De Vitis on 9th May 2014 in Helsinki - so it's not true.

I'd love to tell you, but I read it yesterday and I'm trying to find what article it was reported it.

Offhand I believe it was Arum at a press conference promoting Crawford-Khan.

But I need to check the archives. It seems another post already says that Tatli has been decked.

Probably was Arum tryna sell the fights

When Ali fought Wepner, the claim was that Wepner had been stopped but never knocked down.

He actually had been floored on several occasions.

Dundee later said he was aware of those knockdowns, but continued to insist during the promotion that Wepner had never hit the canvas.

Dundee said that he knew Ali was rather disinterested in the fight. So he pushed the "never been knocked down" story as a way to motivate the champion to accomplish something supposedly never done before.

Lopez however doesn't seem like the jaded type who needs the extra motivation. He wants to take your head off.

I've been suckered by Arum hype too many times in past fights he promoted, so I'll stick with Teo by KO but increase the round (I said 5 or less before) to 7 or 8 since I expect the Finlander to be in survival mode from the start.

Good performance overall for Lopez.

Very nice body shot. Lifted all of Diaz’s body.

He claims this will be his final co-main. He wants to headline next.
