Billy Joe Saunders is set to head the bill, which will be screened exclusively live on BT Sport, in a clash against Germany’s Shefat Isufu (27-3-2, 20 KOs) for the vacant WBO world title up at super-middleweight after it was relinquished by Gilberto Ramirez.

Ramirez has since disputed that he has given up the title that is set to be contested at Wembley’s SSE Arena on the night by Saunders and Isufu, but ‘DDD’ has stated that his next fight will be on the same bill.

Further details regarding the card will be revealed in due course – potentially at a press conference later this week.

I’m glad he’s returning quick to the ring. The BT pundits were all saying at his age and lack of experience, no need to be fast-tracked anywhere.. give him a fight every few months, doesn’t matter if he ends up being 25-0 before he challenges for a world title, who knows he might even lose before he actually challenges for a world title. HW is difficult to get a shot, either you get in a mando position or hope and pray one of the champions chooses you as a voluntary. And we only have 2 champions.

Who should he fight? Any names? Suggestions?

Who do you reckon he’ll fight? Will it be someone we know or have heard off? Or will they dig out a European bin man?

Johann Duhaupas hasn't fought for over a year, he could perceivably take the fight.

Robert Helenius might be a long shot, but worth mentioning.

I would like to see Peter Milas have a go, maybe. 23yo 13-0 Czech fighter who defeated Pianeta and who stopped Kevin Johnson (OK it was due to a cut, but still helps the narrative), something Dubois couldn't do.

At his age keeping busy and exposure is the main thing.
He will do most of his learning in the gym.

Probably be another opponent but at least he's keeping active

Then hopefully to get him some wins against folk who will give him some rounds.
At top level being able to think on your feet for Plan b and c etc is often the difference between champions and contenders.

Indeed. Exactly my point. Dubois needs to further build his arsenal so he has more than a couple of weapons and methods under his belt. He's exactly the sort that Soko may be able to expose at this time.

I like how eager Dubois is to learn, might set a blueprint if he does well to future ammys wanting to turn pro quickly (especially at HW)

I'm struggling to see Dubois lining up anyone formidable either with just the months notice. He just needs someone resilient and awkward, like Johnston. Maybe Helenius if they can get him at short notice?

Yeah he would t get by in today’s 250lb muscular heavyweights.

Couple of points;

1. As has been pointed out, Bruno was a big star in the UK and won a world title in a very competitive era
2. People said the same thing about Joshua and he's now the unified world champion

I'm not saying DD is going to scale these heights and he has a heck of a lot to prove but the Bruno comparisons always reek of laziness to me.
