Just read these two articles offering a stateside view of Danny Williams and his chances in winning the biggest prize in boxing. Thoughts some of you might be interested.

You don’t have to go back too far into Williams’ career before you run into matches that will serve to hearten the champion. In a little over a year and a half Danny has suffered two losses. While losses are always bad, losing to fringe contenders such as Michael Sprott (26-7 KO’s 14) and Sinan Samil Sam (21-2 KO’s 14) only serve to show where you really stand in the heavyweight pecking order. Sprott went on to lose to Matt Skelton (14-0 KO’s 13) and Sam, who only has 14 knockouts in 23 professional bouts, was able to knock Williams down three times and eventually end the match in six rounds. This is your challenger.

That said, I do agree with his stance on Klitschko. Klitschko seems to have been ordained on the basis that he scares most writers and it took Fat Len six rounds to open up a canyon in his face.

Most American writers don't have a fornicating Danny, about Danny. They base their writings on his record and what they've gleaned from his press conference, which is what Ron Borges' article is, a list of quotes.

That Borges article is rubbish. Just a quick spray of opinion based on preconceptions in which he tries his hardest to take the piss out of Williams, then Danny saying something interesting that makes the earlier Borges viewpoint seem nonsensical.

It's a classic example of why you shoulnd't write about fighters you know nothing about at length.
It's like Freddie Roach saying Danny 'wasn't the bravest.'
Oh yeah, ever fight with a dislocated shoulder Freddie?.....thought not!
