Rice is a 32 y/o journeyman whose best fights were a decision loss to Tony Yoka (Yoka's 2nd pro fight) and decision win vs the very tough Rodney Hernandez (who was stopped by Efe Ajagba in Efe's 3rd pro fight) to go along with his three losses. He's never been kayoed, however he's merely another tomato can for Makhmudov to wreck. Not sure why they made this match and didn't provide some level up in competition. A bit disappointed as I feel like Mak is ready for a better level of opponent. Maybe they feel like just having a big body in there for aesthetics is good enough.

Wow! The WBC Intercontinental belt! That is special. I love Mak. This is not going to help his career. Happy you are happy with it. What would you like the promoter to say? He's a promoter.
As he's scheduled again in June, maybe we'll see a better matchup for the big man.

Yoka's second pro fight. Mak will walk through him.

it was only a 6 round fight anyway, yoka had done 5 rounds in wsb
interstingly, i looked into records and notice that rice victim mario heredia beat joe parker in wsb!
rice also beat former ufc fighter mike kyle...interesting resume
