Yeah, an April fool. I think this is all a joke.
It's pretty unlikely he would sign a contract and then have a fight scheduled just 6 weeks away.

There's usually at least a 3 month period between signing and then fighting. At least for the big names.

You're right.

So let's return to the "Is Joshua-Miller the biggest heavyweight fight ever?" thread.

Something really thought provoking

Can't count on him.

He would pull out at the last minute.

But it would be a hell of a fight. I recall that there used to be a guy here (whose name somehow slips my mind) who swore that Chamberlain would have destroyed Ali.

Imagine how he would brutalize Klitschko.

"David Price volunteers to face Wladimir Klitschko in comeback fight"

David Price (24-6, 19 KOs) has volunteered to be the opponent for former IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-5, 53 KOs) to face when/if he accepts a big offer that he’s rumored to have been given by DAZN to sign with them. Wladimir could be making his comeback on May 25 in Kiev, Ukraine, according to Talksport.

The 43-year-old Wladiimir has been out of the ring for exactly two years since losing to IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua by an 11th round knockout in April 2017. With the big money that Klitschko can make by signing with DAZN, he could potentially double his network, which is said to be $60 million, according to Celebrity net worth. Wladimir is said to be considering a $120 million offer for a 3-fight deal with DAZN. If Wladimir does sign for that kind of money, DAZN will likely want all three of his fights to be against noteworthy heavyweights like WBC champion Deontay Wilder, Joshua and Tyson Fury. Price is a good basic heavyweight, but he’s not well known in the United States, and that’s where the streaming company would needs the subscribers.

“Look, I’m world famous now, aren’t I? Because of the bite,” David Price said to Talksport.com. “You know, he’s probably looking for a bit of an easy one to come back Wladimir, so I’d definitely love the opportunity for that.”

Price, 6’8″, would have a puncher’s chance of beating Klitschko if he landed one of his big shots in the first four rounds, but that point on, it would be all downhill for Pricey. If Wladimir made Price expend energy in the first two rounds, he’d likely gas out and be fighting on fumes, and he ready to be knocked out. Price does have the power to wreck Wladimir’s comeback if he nailed him with a big shot.

“Wladimir Klitschko is still weighing a lucrative offer from DAZN,” said Mike Coppinger on his Twitter. “Wlad stays in great shape but he is 43. Must be awfully tempting to return now that the heavyweight division is exciting again.”

"KIDDING Wladimir Klitschko comeback not happening; confirmed to be ‘just an April Fools’ joke’ from Ukrainian outlet"

He remains retired… at least for the time being

Wladimir Klitschko has NOT agreed a $120million, three-fight deal to make a comeback in May.

A report emerged on Monday morning (April 1) from Ukrainian news outlet ‘Sport Arena’ suggesting that the former heavyweight champion had struck an agreement with DAZN and would return on May 25 in Kiev, Ukraine.

This story was taken with great scepticism due to the fact it was published on April Fools’ Day, and yet still gathered a great deal of worldwide traction.

Now however, a day later, ‘Sport Arena’ have confirmed they were just joking after all.

In an article rounding up the day’s best April Fools’ pranks, the Ukrainians wrote: “Perhaps Wladimir will return to the ring, but the date and place of the battle is for now just a joke of ‘Sport Arena.’”

The report even reached British shores, with heavyweight contender David Price reacting to the ‘news’ on talkSPORT and even putting himself forward as a potential comeback opponent for Klitschko.

Price will be disappointed to learn that no such opportunity is forthcoming.

At 43 Wlad is going to have to jump straight into the deep end. I don't doubt for a second that even at 43 he has a lot to offer with his experience, style and naturally fit stature.

That being said, the waiting list for a world title shot is ever expanding, and if he was to sign up with DAZN, they'd hit the same logistical problems the big three are currently. I just don't know if it'd be worth it, unless he can coax one of the big three into the ring, if not all of them.

We've already seen him lose to Fury and Joshua, and I'd be surprised if the outcome was to be any different.

Just stay retired Wlad.

The only interesting thing about this non-story is how many boxing ‘news’ websites immediately ran with it. Just shows they do absolutely zero fact checking and simply copy stories directly from other places of the internet (which then gets attributed to a ‘source’).

Seriously. Just go on 3 or 4 boxing forums and make up a rumored fight.
It will get an article written about it by someone on one of the boxing sites.
It then spreads like wildfire.

Yeah, that's the guy. The infamous K-Man.

As I recall though, he was a big Klitschko fanatic. Insisted Lewis resorted to thumbing and laces to open that cut when he fought Vitali.
