New WBC HW Rankings

Well, another alphabet org has put out its rankings and not without the usual questionable calls.
Champ: Deontay Wilder
1-Dillian Whyte
2-Tyson Fury
3-Luis Ortiz
4-Dominic Breazeale
5-Adam Kownacki
6-Joseph Parker
7-Alexander Povetkin
8-Agit Kabayel
9-Kubrat Pulev
10-Oscar Rivas
11-Dereck Chisora
12-Yony Toka
13-Charles Martin
14-Carlos Takam
15-Joe Joyce

While seemingly better than the other Orgs, several questionable rankings. Tony Yoka still suspended in the 12 slot, for instance. What do you think? Number four guy is mandatory(???)

New WBA rankings are so outrageous I won't post them. Clue one. Otto Wallin at number 5; Trevor Bryant at number 1. UGH!

WBC always have the best rankings. May not be justified, but at least we know the names.

IBF tend to have a lot of unknown guys in there, that's how they get into mando positions.

Guys like Dominic Wade and Jo Jo Dan..

Why has Dereck Chisora risen in the rankings?

Why is Tony Yoka even ranked, even though he's serving a one year ban?

Why is Tyson Fury ranked so highly, even though he refused to participate in his WBC-mandated rematch against Deontay Wilder? Fighters are normally penalised in the rankings for failing to adhere to the WBC's commands.

Why is Joe Joyce rated, when he holds a WBA secondary title that is so prestigious that he is ranked above all the WBA's contenders? The WBC normally excludes from their rankings titleholders from other governing bodies.

You think any of that is dumb, the WBA moved Ivan Dychko to number 15! The guy hasn't fought in 9 or 10 months!

JJ does not hold the 'super', 'regular', or 'interm' WBA belts..

I thought he held the WBA 'Gold' belt?

Unless the 'Gold' is the new 'interim' belt?

Who knows..

JJ isnt even ranked in the WBA top 15.. He's up there alongside Joshua and Charr. :maybe:

Joyce isn't ranked by the WBA because he holds one of their secondary titles. His status is above those that are deemed as being top-15 rated contenders. Joe is already in line to challenge for Manuel Charr's WBA "Regular" Title, based on his title-eliminator victory over Bermane Stiverne, which I guess is the reason he's not ranked.

You could be right, the GOLD title might be the rebranded name for the WBA's legacy interim title.

Edit: Nope, we're both wrong. Trevor Bryan is the interim titleholder. So the WBA have super, regular, interim and gold heavyweight championship belts, with the holders of these straps rated above their top-15 contenders.

And why no ranking for my personal favorite, Japan's Kyotaro Fujimoto, the #10 WBA contender?

You would think that the 2 time conqueror of former 154/160 contender Nobuhiro Ishida (he beat Kirkland, he challenged Golovkin) would rate some respect from the WBC.

If Fujimoto signed with DAZN or ESPN, he would probably skyrocket to mandatory status.

I take this back. The WBA ratings are the real joke. I was on the wrong thread.

Don't forget the ibf and wbo they both suck just as much in the ratings.
But the WBA is the worst organization. Everyone is a world champion

I think I posted one of those as well last month. I posted WBA this morning. The WBC seems to be the most inclusive, which is why I favor it.
