He decided to get back, evidently. What do you expect about him (and his boxing future) ?

I can't see it. I've been surprised before but he was so grossly out of shape and is no youngster.

I really hope hes doing well financially and did not went through all his money already but it seems like he came back for at least one last big paycheck. He will get back in shape probably score a win over a faded name. Mathysse would have made a lot of sense but already got taken by Pac. Welterweight division is a jungle right now, not necessarily of brawlers but of talented, physically gifted champions. Pacquiao would be a good one depending on how the Thurman fight goes.

Too many things go against him:
Obesity
Age
Inactivity

And some real good competition in the welterweight division.

It is probable that Maidana will reassess and never melt down to 147.

But will he still retain any significant power at 154 or 160?

It's a sad state of affairs.

He's got virtually no chance. He was a fighter who relied heavily on his physical attributes rather than his skills.

Hopefully he changes his mind.
