Fury vs Wilder pushed back to late 2020

Word from Tyson Fury's camp is that a much awaited rematch with Deontay Wilder will be pushed back to late 2020 as Fury eyes at least one more fight after facing Schwarz before taking on Wilder.
Seems that Arum believes that the two can sell over 2 million PPV's if properly matched in a buildup to the rematch.
Me? I think Arum is getting senile or something. It's been relatively difficult typing this post as I'm shaking my head in disbelief.
I've said it before and I'll say it again...C'MON PROSPECTS!

Sometimes I don’t understand why boxing doesn’t command the interest/attention it once did and what it deserves.
Stuff like this reminds me why it doesn’t.

lol why do ppl keep talking about a rematch, its obvious with the dates keep getting put back that its simply not on the table in the near future, its just another hypo fight now

This fight only happens if Wilder were to beat Joshua along the way. Arum will happily keep moving the goal posts.

Fury-Wilder II is never hitting 1 million buys, never mind 2 million.
In this day and age where illegal streams rule.. Not even just that. If the whole internet was shut down for a full day, still the fight would not do 2 million.
They're just waiting it out to long.
If it's gonna be late 2020, then that probably means Fury will likely have 2 more fights before then, possible 3, because he said his ESPN contract will see him fight twice in the US and he may sneak a UK fight in there.

pac-broner and mikey-spence did more buys then the first one, it was hardly some mega fight which showed potential to get to 2m for a redo

...I hope I'm not the only one for whom this "marinating" has the opposite effect..from my perspective they try to turn boxing fans into zombies willing to pay more as the time goes by..what a bunch of moochers..

But Arum has also predicted 1 million+ buys for Crawford-Spence. And we know it will be fortunate to hit 300,000.
Arum just makes these numbers up. He feels that if he tells you something is popular and anticipated, that will somehow make it so.
No matter how much marinating is done, a Fury-Wilder rematch will do in the vicinity of the original--325,000.

Totally agree. I'm more interested in the young up and coming HW's than the "top guys" who don't seem to want to fight any potential threatening opponent. At least Wilder fought Ortiz/Fury and now Breazeale. Joshua did Takam/Parker and Povetkin. Fury is the worst.

Yeah as much as I defend Fury I'm completely disappointed with the current espn route after the comeback fight against Wilder. Much of the goodwill gained from that fight will be lost unfortunately. Although I accept its all about the bank balance and understand that to a point.

But it adds many interesting fighters into the mix. Right now there's a huge falloff in talent after the big three.

and tbh im not really impressed at all with the guys coming up as contenders....hrgovic, joyce, etc
its the younger guys....efe, dubois, etc who stand out more

Yes, it's the younger guys I'm speaking about. Dubois; Makhmudov; Ajagba, etc.

Supposedly Joyce and Dubois is on for July.
Okay, Joyce isn't exactly young, but his pro career is.
Of course we have to see some ink on the contracts before we bother reserving tickets.

That's the way I feel.
But I've been rebuked on FB as out of touch for questioning the veracity of reports that assure us that the fight is a done deal.
Haven't fans learned anything from the endless Joshua-Wilder negotiation shenanigans?
