Carl could be a pretty good fighter. Snipes was never able to get over on a good fighter.

Carl Williams would use his long left jabs to outbox Snipes for a decision win in 15 rounds and that is the "Truth".

Remember this. Carl could be caught. Weaver, Tillis, and Ferguson did it. For that reason, I think Snipes with his vaunted right comes from behind to stop Williams in the ninth.

They would be pretty evenly matched. For about three Spinks was at the same level as Witherspoon, Page, Thomas Berbik etc. For a little longer so was Williams. Outside of the Holmes knockdown, I never saw any evidence of Snipes being that hard of a puncher. However, he may have hit hard enough to stop Williams who didn't have a good chin. Williams had a very good jab, but occasionally got careless and got nailed.
With a little luck, either of these guys could have got a WBS title, and would be better remembered today.
