Ok, Allen is keen on the fight and 'thinks' this will be the next fight for him, he has confirmed it wont be Parker next for him but is confident that the fight with David Price will be 20th July.

So lets presume this is going to happen and discuss the outcome, and if Allen beats Price where this leaves him next?

tough one to predict mate, two scenarios I can see happening

1. Allen prods around for a few rounds get Pricey tired and blasts him out round mid rounds
2. Price catches Allen cold early

Allen should try get the British strap

I'm pretty sure Allen will beat Price at this stage,and can't see much happening for him really,Price isn't exactly a big name anymore so can't see a win opening many doors.

Price will win some rounds, but still won't have the confidence to step in with his heavy artillery. Therefore in the second half of the fight he will blow up and be taken out by a single shot.

I want to see the Price that turned up against Sexton all them years ago. That Sextin would have beat Allen

Good fight that could go either way, I’d favour Price though, he’d still one of the biggest punchers in the world and Allen does like to block a lot of shots with his face.

I maybe starting to think this could be a small run of good luck for Dave Allen by beating a few heavyweights to a possible title shot at British or Commonwealth. I'm going to plum for a commonwealth title crack but not against JJ. If Allen beats Price in July that could leave a shot next around November time which by then JJ has vacated it to move onto bigger fish.

I actually think that Price is the perfect opponent for Allen (within reason). Allen is fitter than he's ever been, he more motivated than he's ever been, and probably feeling pretty confident on his current run.

He has a solid chin, so think he could absorb a couple of Price shots, and then start to up the ante in the second half. Allen also has a decent body shot, so can maybe even take the wind out of Price earlier.

In regards to next steps, British title is a must. A little bit of a shame that this can't be made for the British, since Dubois and Joyce haven't got a confirmed date. Still think it'll be tough to make a fight between someone in the Matchroom stable and the Fwank W@rren stable.

I thought Kash Ali had Price tiring around round 5 and he wobbled a bit when he did attack - for me Allen works him hard and gets him when tank empties late on.

I like this fight.

Even if Chisora-Parker is added to the bill, it's still not PPV fare, but this is the state of play in 2019.

The money being chucked around by ESPN and DAZN means that fighters like Whyte can command PPV purses, or take their ball and play somewhere else.

Dave Allen versus David Price on PPV. Is this the main event ? Surely not.

Everyone on here spaffed their load a month or so back when someone made some shite up that Whyte was going to sign with ESPN thinking that meant he was signing with Old bog Eyes. Old bog eyes had only done an interview a few days previous saying Whyte should get in contact with him and said they hadn’t spoken about any deal yet.

Everyone was giving it ‘ah he’s made a right mug of Hearn here Yada yada.’

Sure enough Whytes next fight is on a Matchroom bill on PPV. Everyone beforehand will predict that it will bomb on box office. It won’t and we move on.

It won't bomb, you're right. Most of my "casual" mates bought the Whyte-Parker/Chisora-Takam card, and everyone loved it because the fights were exciting (I didn't buy it out of "principle", which was a resounding victory for the hardcore).

Allen ships too many punches.
Price hits harder than anyone Allen has been in against (and beaten).
Even with his new dedication to training, Allen's defence will let him down.
