The kid is still very green, the Joyce fight makes NO sense - what do you lads think?

Said before this fight that Joyce would have too much for DD. Tonight hasn't really changed my opinion much - Dubois faught a fun fight, still pick JJ if they fight.

FW is a smart man, will guide young Dubois down the european path against Kabayel

Dubois has a chance, but surely it's too soon.
Triple D vs Gorman with Triple J on the undercard at the end of the year, with the winners fighting early 2020 would be ideal.

I think both are very similar they both take to many shots and can punch it's a risky fight for both guys .

I think Dubois is going to be a bust
you might be onto something, always believed being a boxer is more than just throwing a jab/right you need a pinch of charisma or an X factor which the lad simply doesn't have

Dubois has time on his side. They should stick some E in his protein shake and see if he shows any sort of personality! I thought he was just shy before but he's as dull as a November morning! I'd rather be stuck in a lift with Steve Davis discussing carpet samples than go on a night out with the big fella!

But yeah, in all seriousness Joyce would take him the now. DD needs managed carefully. JJ is champing at the bit to burst forward! I'd love to see the fight happen but I'd understand if their handlers patched it!

Joyce would marmalise 21yo Dubois in my opinion. The Boxing Mummy would lumber forward and take him out in quick time I imagine.

I like Dubois. I think he could be something when he comes out of his shell a bit. Obviously he’s a quiet fella, but I don’t care for chat outside the ring really.
Of the three he easily has the most to work with. No need to rush him but I like that he stood and traded last night and will hopefully give him a bit more confidence.
I don’t think he’s anywhere near being fully matured either, he looks like a massive oversized child at the moment
Right now I’d say let Joyce move on and away from him ( and Gorman ) as much as I’d like to see them all fight.
He’s 33 and needs to be targeting a world title shot in the next 12 months, not messing around with the domestic scene.

There is no point potentially ruining one of our prospects. Let Joyce move onward and make some money as he's getting on, and let Dubious learn his craft in more fights like last night, where he'll learn his faults. So long as FW don't try to con us with bullshit PPV with crap opposition. Get him out regularly. He has a good jab, and is obviously very heavy handed. Regardless of skill level, that Lartley was a tough guy, who came to knock DDD out, and was sparked with a 1 punch KO.
We're always too negative...
We moaned about Bellew being OTT
We moaned about Haye's theatrics
We moan about Eubank Jr overconfidence
We moan about Froch's ego
We moan about Khan's overconfidence
We moan about AJ's 'fake' humbleness
We are BRITSH, we just love a good moan don't we?
We've got 2 genuine British lads here with no bells & whistles, who just want to fullfill their potential in the ring. They've not got much to say, and they've both shown no desire to want to be celebrities. They just want to be boxers. They ain't cocky, there is no drama. It's refreshing. This is boxing, not X-factor!! Boxing coaches don't give you personality training. They teach you how to box!
Did anybody hear DDD say "thank you" to Joyce when Joyce said well done in the post fight interview? DDD is a good kid with manners, no matter how his career out. A proper role model for our youth. Let's just get behind them both and hope they have good careers and set themselves up.

I know he is young and still learning, but I don't what Warren sees in Dubois. Joyce would beat him in short, brutal order.
Gorman fight makes much more sense.
Gorman may outbox him, but probably won't flatten him.
People are right to point out how dull he is. Throughout the entire pre fight interview he didn't say anything beyond a few generic, robotic responses.
He also didn't look at the interviewer or camera once. He doesn't need to be a brash Tony Bellew type, but show a little bit of personality, he makes Joshua look like Hulk Hogan.

I think it’s all BS at the moment Joyce is in a good position to fight for world rights very soon and DD is not ready anyway. No point in Joyce taking a backwards step and no point in DD being rushed. It’s all marketing that gives warren someone to talk about outside of matchroom

Dubois hasn’t done too badly so far. He bossed the fight last night and people are talking about how he copped a few digs. That says a lot in itself.

I was impressed by both him, as well as his opponent.
I think his opponent could win against guys like Kownacki, or Charles Martin.

This is a good post right here. People moaning about his lack of charisma is a bit odd. It makes a nice change for a quite, humble lad to be getting exposure, not feeling the need to be brash or disrespectful to his opponents and peers.
We've become acustomed to ridiculousness in press conferences, interviews, those stupid "head to head" shows and weigh ins. Boxers trading insults and all that nonsense. The casuals lap it up and Eddie Hearn probably loves how it all generates potential PPV buys. Personally I thought boxing was all about discipline and respect, but that's all seemingly out of the window.
You don't need to be a troublecausing baffoon to make good money. For the most part Joshua doesn't bad mouth his opponents and seemed to be a humble guy, though there are murmours that it was all for show. Manny Pacquiao has never once needed to create any antics to sell his fights.
I wouldn't have minded the Dubois vs Joyce fight, but thinking about it, even if they are about the same point in their pro career, Dubois seems to have an enternity ahead, while 33 year old Joyce really needs to make moves. So with that in mind it makes sense to rush Joyce on a bit. While Dubois vs Gorman would make sense in the same way Degale and Groves faced off early in their careers.

I see it as a rather close bout, because Joyce isn't too polished boxer. Yeah, he is more experienced, he's mobile and hard-hitting, but he leaves too many openings. He's not elusive enough to school Dubois. Maybe Dubois is green, but he can fight in a collected way and find openings for his bombs.

I will have to respectfully disagree mate, think Joyce has enough to out point Dubois at this stage. No doubt Dubois will be quality in 24 months.

I'm surprised so many people reckon Dubois isn't ready for Joyce, if Joyce wasn't as experienced as he is and was of a similar age to Dubois I think people might think differently, maybe not but I think skillwise although their different boxers there isn't much to choose, Joyce might have the pedigree but he doesn't care too much for defence, his chin looks solid judging by the way he ate up Stiverne's punches but you wouldnt recommend allowing Dubois to hit him like that even though Stiverne might actually be a harder hitter....maybe
As boring as they might come across, they let their fighting do the talking, I think everyone would agree to prefer that to some loudmouth chump whos all noise like Broner

Of course, but that would be comparing two completely different boxers
