Right, so the WBA are the first to do something.. Not that it would matter.. WTF is 6 months?
Word is that the WBA has suspended undefeated heavyweight contender Jarrell Miller for six months following his failed drug tests. Miller will be removed from the rankings and have to undergo random VADA drug testing at his own expense as part of this WBA's ruling. The suspension is backdated to March (the date of the failed test) and Miller could be eligible to return as early as October. More to follow until then
Most boxers fight every 6 months.
Who's next?
He probably wasn't even enrolled with the CBP.
NYSAC have issued a ban yet?

Bloody joke he's already been caught as a kick boxer and now caught with 3 different PEDs in him it should be a minimum of 2 years .

Do orgs even ban for that long? Even 6 months for each PED finding. Not like it was the same test.

WBO dropped Miller from its rankings last week. I don't think they suspended him though. I like this better but I would have hoped it was for longer. I think this encourages fighters to try doping because if you get caught, it's only six months. Ridiculous.

It should be 2 years for the first time and for life time when it happens again.

6 months backdated to March
And what? After 6 months he goes back to #1 spot?
Yeah, waste of time.

I had a suspicion it would be 6 months backdated
Might as well give up testing altogether for world title fights

I said he would be gone about a year.
But six months, retroactive to March, means that Miller can again be Joshua's challenger at the end of the year.
I'm almost certain that he will be.

I for one think that would be excellent. I was looking forward to that clash.

It will be a big money maker too - assuming Joshua beats TBA of course. I wonder if the Big Baby will give it the big WWF wrestling-style roid rage buildup without the roids. Sure he can do it!

Of course it will be a big moneymaker.
Much much bigger than it would have been on June 1.
Miller has now become a huge name in the sports world.
The media attention for a rescheduled Joshua-BB title bout will dwarf any other fight this year.
DAZN will get what it wants: a major spotlight on Joshua in America.
And for Miller? You can say that getting busted for having a smorgasbord of drugs in his system, might eventually turn out to be the best and most lucrative move of his career.

So my prediction for the two Brooklyn fatties becoming co champs may still come true yet!

He also has to take random tests and pass them. I wouldn't suck your own dick just yet.

What does that last line mean? It seems rather gratuitous.

OMFG! How poor is the WBA’s punishment!
FFS!
The WBA are essentially encouraging fighters to go the whole hog if they’re going to cheat, so they may as well take as many PED’s as possible, because the difference between the punishments for taking a little bit of cannabis for recreational purposes or injecting yourself with all sorts of performance enhancing cräp, is precisely the same!!!

A new low for boxing?
More or less sanctioning blatant cheating now. 6 months isn't a ban, it's fight preparation time.
Feel sorry the boxers though who have to pay the government, sanctioning bodies, promoters, coaches, and now will have to find money for chemists too.
Also tough on coaches and trainers who didn't specialise in chemical enhancement training. These unfortunates could be sending their fighters into possible life or death battles at a serious, possibly lethal disadvantage.
Don't do it guys, be prepared. You're not as superhuman as you might believe.
But there's no need to cry as it's not all bad news (unless your name is Eddie Hearn of course) because every EPO cloud has a silver lining as they say. This must be seen as a green light to the top for boxers who aren't particularly concerned with ethics. Opportunity knocks loud and clear. Big money awaits just a needle or a shake away.
Even better news is that if you do get caught you're only likely to get a slap on the wrist as there's no shortage of loopholes / excuses to escape punishment. Not even for a two times self confessed drug cheat!
So don't cry but instead lift up your glasses and drink up, it's Miller Time!

Well done man! Couldn't agree more. It's downright despicable.

This suspension is basically an endorsement to cheat.

Agreed but pot is nothing compared to PED's. Let's get real here.

What do you mean? Think about the punishments and then think about the crimes. Everybody knows about recreational drugs not enhancing performance, but do you understand they’re use is banned during training camps?
Look at what I actually wrote, look at your response and then “let’s get real here”.

Calls for WBA / Jarrell Miller boycott following ASTONISHING punishment
Frustrated fans have taken to social media to call for a blanket boycott of the World Boxing Association and a partial one for Jarrell Miller following actions failed drug tests.
News that the WBA has issued a six-month ban, the usual amount of time any top heavyweight spends out of the ring anyway during fights, has been met with disbelief.
Once again, President Gilberto Mendoza has come under fire. His continued disregard of what’s in the best interests of the sport is simply dumbfounding.
Mendoza told World Boxing News in February 2013 he would do all he can to reduce the number of world title belts in his organization.
The WBA had introduced the ‘regular’ title a few years prior. An extra strap boxing didn’t want, need or ask for. Fast forward four years, and Mendoza began tentative steps to at least unify the heavyweight division.
After several failed fights, Mendoza completely gave up. Then, just as punters were unsuspecting, the WBA brought in their ‘gold’ title belt in 2019.
One fan said: “Maybe if championships don’t back their belts. Boycott fights, maybe the WBA would be forced into action. Until then these cheats will carry on.”
Others added: “WBA and Gilberto Mendoza, you and your organization are a disgrace to boxing #BoycottWBA!” and “Escaped with a loophole. The WBA are a disgrace. Promoters and fighters should boycott Jarrel Miller.”
It’s now down to VADA to do what’s right and order a two-year minimum suspension for Miller. Six months is not going to put a dent in Miller’s career and will certainly won’t deter any other fighter from doing the same in the future.
Hopefully, sense will eventually prevail. Or at least steps will finally be taken to put together an independent panel who can dish out REAL punishments.

I had a change of heart, I want him suspended for minimum 24 months but not banned for life. We as boxing connoisseurs (hate the word fan) have so many double standards what Canelo tested hot for was equally as powerful as endurobol!
