Ruiz has no advantages over joshua. Miller had activity, mass, and a lot of peds. Ruiz can grind and seems to have a good chin. But he aint winning

Joshua opened an 8-1 favorite over Miller.

At the time of the cancellation, it was 10-1.

Those opening 15-1 odds against Ruiz, give lie to the sentiment expressed here by many, that Michael Hunter might be a better opponent than Ruiz.

The oddsmakers clearly don't think so.

They had Hunter listed as a 25-1 underdog to Joshua.

I wouldn't take 15 -1 for that blob to win half a Rd.

He's proven himself to be a competent heavyweight contender. Quick handed and fundamentally sound.

If Ruiz lost to Hunter in the amateurs nearly a decade ago, so be it. I would hate to think that opponents are selected or rejected to fight for the heavyweight championship simply because of an amateur result ages ago.

Ruiz is undoubtedly more of a name in the heavyweight ranks right now than Hunter. At least he has fought for (and many believe deserved) a version of the heavyweight title.

He's been in numerous televised fights. Even casuals may be a bit familiar with him.

Hunter hasn't done jack in that weight class. He's a complete unknown.

And importantly to the promotion, Ruiz has Mexican heritage. That will attract the loyal Latino fan base. Pumps up interest and help increase DAZN's subscriber rate.

Hunter is unlikely to have any fan base at all.

Ruiz is a pretty good heavyweight. Definitely top 10 right now in my eyes.
He has a fan friendly style.
Besides not looking the part he does play the part.

Nothing wrong with being a fan of anyone. Any Latino fans will subscribe this weekend for Canelo and that will cover the Ruiz beatdown. Or are you saying there are Mexican fans that will skip canelo and subscribe just for Ruiz?

Joshua considers hunter the more difficult opponent. I agree with him. Either way this shitstorm is Miller's fault, not Andy's. As long as he shows up, good for him.

The big X factor people are overlooking is Ruiz has no fear. He’s not afraid of cholesterol or heart attack - doesn’t give a damn what he puts in his body. That’s brave. AJ won’t be able to intimidate someone like that.

Some may actually learn about DAZN after the Canelo fight. Word of mouth that he just fought on that network.

People check into it, learn that Ruiz, a heavyweight with Mexican bloodlines, is fighting for the heavyweight championship shortly, and then decide to purchase DAZN.

DAZN wants Joshua to appear here in the US to help increase the subscription rate. Latino Ruiz' involvement is a plus.

You can't expect DAZN's survival to be strictly Canelo or Bust. A heavyweight championship bout always has that special aura that attracts even those who pay little attention to other boxers.
