Regarding AJ. Wilder and Fury are busy. He's already beaten Parker, Povetkin and Breazeale. Ortiz priced himself out, Kownacki and Pulev aren't interested. Joyce and Hrgovic are novices. Whyte is fighting Rivas.
Who would you like Joshua to fight?

This is a pointless fight. Ustinov is completely shot. Joyce will learn nothing from this bout. It doesn’t help his career in any way.

Absolutely. It's even a step down after shot Stiverne.

great, the 2 guys who need to start throwing a punch before a round starts for it to get there by the end of the round

It's a poor match up, but there is a point to it, several in fact. Joyce stays busy, pads his record, gets more media time and will move up the rankings.

Point taken, but Joyce can achieve the same objectives against anyone not named Ustinov.
I agree though.

Fwank has worked with Ustinov before and I think still has part of a promotional deal with him. He's got a good record on paper and he's a big old unit, they are the upside. The down are absolutely everything else.

Joyce has never seen the end of the sixth round before. Ustinov has never been stopped in under 9 rounds (although he hasn't faced much of a bomber since his younger years when he fought Pulev). I'm guessing that the oldest ever version of Ustinov will at least make it to the seventh round against Joyce, maybe longer. So this fight may be decent prep for Joyce.
At the rate he's going, could Joyce be prepared for a title shot by the time he's 35? (Not to win the title, but just to be an adequately-prepared, deserving challenger.) I suppose he may be.

ustinov took a bad beating vs hunter last time, that prob took something out of him, shouldve been stopped sooner
this fight wont look so bad in retrspective if joes july opponent is good
