Former world middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin revealed on Saturday that Johnathon Banks is his new head trainer.
Last week Golovkin parted ways with long-time trainer Abel Sanchez, with the acrimonious split apparently triggered by a dispute over money.
Banks, a former cruiserweight and heavyweight contender, is best known for taking over the training duties of former unified heavyweight champion Wladmir Klitschko when Emanuel Steward passed away n 2012.
Golovkin will be ringside tonight when Canelo unifies with IBF champion Daniel Jacobs tonight at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Probably was cheap. Did a good job with Wlad after Manny.
Some eyebrows will be raised.

Not surprising, he's running his own show.

Who claimed it? People were just assuming he may pick him.
At least he’s with someone we know and not some random friend.
His brother will still be at his corner.

I mentioned his brother, it was just a guess. I was just certain it wouldn't be one of the trainers to the stars.

..I'm not sure who it was, I thought it was EO and that it was more than assumption but I can be wrong ..

Ah, I definitely suggested it. I only read the first sentence or two of Eos novels. That is usually long enough to correct him and move on.

EO quote: "GGG will be trained by his brother and family members. He probably doesn’t need to employ the services of an experienced specialist trainer. He might decide to establish loose ties with one though, to make use of their training facilities......."
I kinda took it at its face value

There’s nothing wrong with what I wrote. I was only speculating. Most assumed the same thing.

Don't twist it EO. You said it on my thread. Actually you have failed to come with a valid fact EO! You broke your own code of ethics EO! You should be ashamed of that EO and log off for 1 year!

He's been lying a lot lately. Last week he insisted that Canelo only fought once last year. He owes the forum a public apology.

No doubt. He is probably ageing badly and his mind is in damage control mode.He may need medical help.

Gennadiy Golovkin declined to respond Saturday to the harsh words his former trainer delivered last week.
Abel Sanchez painted Golovkin as a greedy, ungrateful fighter once the former middleweight champion announced April 22 that he was parting ways with his longtime trainer. Golovkin announced during a press conference Saturday morning at MGM Grand that Johnathon Banks has replaced Sanchez.
When asked about Sanchez’s provocative comments, Kazakhstan’s Golovkin smiled and replied respectfully.
“I respect his [training regimen],” Golovkin said. “He [taught] me a lot. This is his thoughts, you know, his side. Just watch my Instagram. … I said, ‘Thank you very much. Thank you very much, sir. You teach me.’ It was a huge experience. It was a very nice, good experience. Thanks. That’s it.”
“I want more,” Golovkin said. “I want to learn again and again because, you know, I’m a big boxing fan. I can’t stop. … I am going forward. I need experience. I need more experience.”
“I think that’s obvious, because we’re two totally different people,” Banks said when asked about the differences in their training styles. “It’s almost like you have two people from different walks of life, OK? But they work in the same field. So, me and him, we’re both in the boxing business. If we enter the gym with a fighter, your vision will be different from my vision. Not saying your vision is wrong – not saying my vision is wrong or right. We’ve just got two different visions.”

GGG says he's "Learning new skills" from Banks. I think Banks can add a lot. Maybe any new trainer could have. I wonder if that's why he selected Rolls as his next opponent. Trying stuff out in the ring.

Indeed but I think EO is more like a 71 y/o or something like that. It's not funny that in this particularly situation when he got caught with his ol' b's he is staying quiet without typing those long exculpatory posts with words like facts, factual correct ?lol

He’s not old. Saying he’s old would be a compliment because life experience would be an attribute. He’s a young, naive, keyboard warrior who can dish it out but can’t take it. Basically he’s a poor man Amir Khan in terms of his trolling attack but displays a weak chin and delusions. Maybe EO will get the mayweather fight eventually.
Gennady is a class act. No bad words about the declarations of his former trainer. He thanked him. Also I think GGG just needed a trainer that can teach him how to box economically and pace himself at his age using better the jab, 1-2 combos, defense and of course the range.
GGG's new haircut makes his face even more goofier. lol

LOL
User Datsue described very well this type of attention seeker-troll like E.O :
" Intelligent or not, he's a complete disingenuous arsehole who cloaks his own opinions in a veneer of bullshit while pretending that he's in fact impartial.
Yet watch him when it's someone he doesn't have a gaping wide-on for in the dock...!
It's like listening to one of those right-wing media types who thinks that saying the word "fact" can simply make inconvenient things that they don't like go away, & that if they keep thrashing things out in a long-winded convoluted fashion you'll lose sight of consensus reality & accept their Byzantine version of events that—despite their constant appeals to some sort of "objectivity"—is only supported by their opinions & their bullshit rhetoric. "
This should be attached whenever EO is posting.

Lol. I’ve seen it before and it’s excellent. I asked EO to attach it as his signature but he’s seems reluctant to for some reason.

He should stop being reluctant and attach it. It suits him very well.
