Cheer up 2004 has not been that bad heres 3 reasons why not!

After the farce on friday I have reacked my brains to find three good things to happen to british boxing this year.
1. Amir Khan winning the silver medal in Athens
2. Danny Williams beating Mike Tyson then next fight fighting for the world championship
3. Thompson against Haye best fight of the year in my view
Cheer up guys in 2005 Hatton might fight the winner of Tsyzu Mitchell Calzaghe may fight Tarver and Harrison may get Chi. I'm holding my breath at the moment.

2 no one showing mayorga v trinidad
3 SN getting rid of fight skool
4 SKY putting all the amaerican live fights on PPV.

right sick of all the pessism even if some of it is warranted, trying to be positive cos out of positive thinking, positive things arise my friends. maybe this is part of the problem with ouyr sport too many people sat around fornicating moaning about the state of it and not doing anything to actually support and improve it.
1. Danny Williams is a THE success story of 2004 and could end up starting the new year Champ of the World.
2. Hatton should get a meaningful title shot next year, he has no where else to go
3. Scotts harrison same
4. Calzaghe we can hope.
5. Audley has to step it up next year its do or time for Aud.
6. David Haye will come back biger and wiser for his result against Carl thompson. Showing great BOUNCEBACKABILITY!
7. Kevin mitchell nice young prospect who will look to mature nicely next year.
8. Signs that some of the match making is on the up, Barnes Hare, an example, Thomson Haye another, alexander tak, another.
9 Froch and Eastman both in decent positions to progress, as is Enzo macc, gomez, cook.
10. Johnny Nelson is still doing his stuff at world level.
11. Jonhny Nelson and Richie woodhall have both increased the watchability of anything they are on. class shows through.
12.Boxing is getitng increased exposure on the tv just not the live fights, boxing academy and "the fight" series being a case in point. Its raising the profile of the sport.
I could keep going but last but no means least, Ive had some great nights out this year and met some great peopl,e some of whom I am proud to have say have become friends, if that isnt a fornicating reason to keep smiling on the sport and be positive I dont know what is.
here endeth my four penneth., the rest of you guys cheer up it aint all that bad.

Trinidad's comeback.
"Winky" Wright finally getting some of the credit he's due.
Morales returning to form.
Mayweather returning to form.
Marquez vs Pacquiao.
Fighters going to Germany, and actually winning on points.
Ottke's retirement.
See, it's not been all bad.

In answer to the original post, there are always going to be a few highlights in the calendar of any sport (except cricket), but the duds in 2004 have by far outweighed the positives.
Cancelled fights, TV interest once again slipping, tt's been desperate...

In reply to Goz I agree its been a pretty awful year in Britain at least but you have to hope that things will get better and that good fights will happen what I wish would happen is that all the bullshit about sub par fights and perfomences would cease. I mean Scott Harrison did talk some shit about his win on Friday but if he got Chi I would even consider going up to Scotland to see it.

For me Cotto is going to be the man of the division for a good few years to come and i hope he doesnt feel the need to move through the weights unless he needs too.
I predict he will be the man to finish the career of Kostya.
