12 round fighters, better suited to 15 rounders

The Alexis Arguello vs Oscar De La Hoya thread got me thinking about this. Oscar had known stamina issues over the 12 round distance so it's hard for all of us to imagine him not having even worse stamina issues over a 15 round distance.
But on the flip side of that. Who are some guys who you DO think would've been better suited for the 15 round distance from the modern era?
One that immediately springs to mind for me is Jose Luis Castillo as he seemed to always just get stronger and stronger as the fights went on, and a great deal of his stoppages came late in fights after having worn his opponents down. For instance he won a close decision over Joel Casamayor, but the way that bout was going if it had been scheduled for 15 I think he either would've stopped Casamayor or at least eliminated any doubt as to the verdict by dominating the final 3 stanzas.
So let's have it gents. Who are some guys that you think would do just as well if not better with 15 rounds to work with instead of 12?

Personally, if you can go 12 then you certainly can go 15. My issue with our era is the prestige of world championship fights has diminished ever since going to 12 rounders. I'd love it to return just to hear the announcer say, "And here we go! The thirteenth round, the hard luck number!"

Maybe Canelo. He has developed a rational economical style based of great defence and precise attacks. He also pushes the pace in the later rounds.

Tim Bradley, Bernard Hopkins, and Floyd Mayweather seem like guys for whom 15 rounds would have been, not just no problem, but probably a benefit.
Ironically, I think a guy like James Toney would have been great in 15 round fights. Yes, there were discipline issues, but he was so economical and smart in there, he always seemed at ease. He had some notable bad fights, but he never seemed particularly tired.

Sorry, Floyd is the one guy I don't see going 15 rounds, it would be to his disadvantage.

Don't think Floyd is mentally capable of taking it up a notch to 15. The final 3 rounds would be a killer for him. Imagine if Montreal Duran had him in a 15 rounder. Be real tragic for him.

That's the opponent, not the distance. Floyd was never breathing heavy after 12. He was as strong as they come mentally. Stronger than Duran.

Armstrong, Robinson, and Pryor would severly test that mental strength bigtime though.

OK. I think he'd beat Pryor, but you're saying you don't think Floyd is suited for 15 RDS because he'd have problems with Duran, Armstrong and Robinson?

If I may jump in here as well, not only was Floyd supremely conditioned and utterly at ease in the ring. He had marvelous ring IQ and a tendency to get better the more he saw from his opponents (as a general rule).
More time in the ring hurts him......how?? Now, if you want to argue that the things I listed simply aren't true about Mayweather, that's your call, but I find it hard to believe that anybody could dispute any of that.
I love Aaron Pryor, but Floyd matches up quite well, but I don't want to take this thread off its original question.

Canelo gets fatigued in every fight. An extra three would be detrimental to him.
Of current guys Juan Francisco Estrada is the first to come to mind. He’s very patient, calculated and in control. Never seems flustered or tired and is very economical.

That's the first name that occurred to me. Always seemed to come on strong at the end of his fights.

Understand you and Onetimeonly's point, but something tells me that Floyd going to 15 rounds is going to shake him up some. We know that extra 3 rounds is what seperates the men from the boys, and well, Floyd, heartwise, something is missing there. Just saying.

That's ridiculous. He was hurt twice in his career and both times he was beating the shit out of the guy in the same Rd. Hie immediately rematched his two toughest fights. Just hate him and be done with it. 15 would be even better for him.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion and I respect it. But, I can think of nothing in Floyd's in the ring career that supports that view. I think you might be underestimating just how many of Floyd's
opponents were thanking god there was no 13th round scheduled.
