Inactivity renders this alleged fight for Groves. Froch is dreaming. Been too comfy at ringside blabbing a mess for too long.

Is this for real? I suppose it would sell pretty well, easy night for Groves I’d say, Froch has been out donkies years.

I favoured Groves in the rematch and people do forget just how well Groves was doing in fight 2 - was pacing himself better and seemed to be gaining some control before BOOM - BUT people might think I am nuts I would actually favour Froch now..... Groves has had more mileage (considerably) since then and doesn't look like he looks after himself now as well as Froch (which is not a bad thing, enjoy the retirement Saint George Groves)

George looked tired and just worn during the the Super Series. I actually changed my pick from Groves (comfortably) to Smith (who I am still not convinced about) just seeing them in the build up, final presser's etc. George always seemed to over do the training side of things in camp - it just looked like it was too long a camp and just looked like he over did it. He just seemed knackered in fight week and looked awful.

I actually think whilst his signature win was against Eubank Jnr, I think he was showing some wear and tear of a hard career with hard training before that. He didn't look great vs Jamie Cox and I think the Groves of a few fights before would have handled Chudinov a lot more comfortably than he did. For me he was never the same fighter after Gutnkneckt. I don't think it was psychological, but it was as if the hard camps were taking more toll after that. No I don't think Groves was "Cobra'd" - infact in hindsight his close lose to Jack (which many thought he won) was a pretty decent effort now we know how good Jack really was.... however I think Groves' best run was when he was fighting on Channel 5, in the early days with Shane - post Froch but pre World title.

Froch had some hard fights but retired after one of his better displays and I don't think looked visibly slower / fatigued to his days when he beat Taylor. I definitely feel when they both retired there was more in Froch's tank than George - but yes, Groves is younger and how has natural age slowed Froch down. But Froch looks to be living cleaner and ticking over.

I just also remember Maske vs Hill 2 - Maske 10 years out of the ring.... retired after losing DECISIVELY to Hill in fight 1. Hill was a world champion and had a decent career in those 10 years and Maske dominated the rematch. It was considered a mismatch the WBA refused to sanction it for the title and with good reason on paper - but undoubteldy those extra fights affected Hill more than Maske 10 years out of the ring.

Didn't see it that way. I remember froch being the boss and appearing much stronger/in command the second time around. He seemed to be moving George into all the right positions. I may watch it again and reevaluate actually.

Froch started fight 2 well, but I thought Groves was coming back into it and had won the two previous rounds and was (if memory serves) winning the round before the KO. I had Froch one round up, but it looked like Groves was starting to get some control. He certainly fought a different way in fight 2 and I don't think had that nervous energy expenditure of fight 1.

Hill lost his belt few months later anyway.

Hill had 11 fights between the 2 Maske.

Lost a fair few fight too.

I would consider going to a sportsmans dinner with Groves but I wouldn't really want to go anywhere to listen to Froch speaking

I don't remember a great deal about the second fight but I do remember Groves wobbling Froch with a jab in round 7.

Why the fornicate would Groves want to do this. Froch will have the last word because ultimately he knocked him out in the second fight. Imagine how much of a prick Froch will be. Groves must have made a fortune in his career, why does he want to retire, just to sit and listen to his biggest rival ridicule him in front of a live audience.

Groves has been fighting ever since, only just retired. Froch is being a plum as Groves will get revenge here. Just leave it, you've had your nose straightened since you've retired too.
