Surprised it’s been made already

Tickets for ‘Heavy Duty’ featuring Daniel Dubois v Nathan Gorman for the vacant British Heavyweight Title, plus Olympic silver medalist go on sale at 12pm on Friday 10th May via AXS.com, Eventim and Ticketmaster.

This is a good fight for British boxing. Thank you to Frank on this one. Eddeh is too focused on USA.

Just hope the winner defends the title. No need to be rushed after this.

Gorman will be very tough to beat on the night - picturing a points decision for young Nathan!

Gorman is the more rounded boxer, very smart and has quick hands. Dubois has the size, reach and power advantages, as well as being a decent inside fighter and having a good chin.

I reckon Gorman will establish an early lead, assuming he doesn’t trade with Dubois, but will inevitably tire down the stretch. Nathan needs to turn this into a chess match rather than a fight.

In my mind, Dubois is more than capable of coming back from behind to score a late stoppage, as long as he can force Gorman to engage with him.

I feel the outcome of this fight will be dependant on how things play out during the final few rounds, when both men are tired.

I favour Gorman to score a decision victory, but he may have to overcome adversity and do his upmost to avoid being stopped late by a desperate and relentless rally from Dubois.

Gorman has been long rounds before. He's a round by round fighter. That should benefit him.

I had that view until a few months ago, Hearn just got the biggest kitty in boxing from DAZN can't blame the fella for spending time in the states!

Yeh and even with Frank's ESPN/Arum deal, at least he's still putting his bigger names in the UK and not fighting US boxers in USA.

examples are: Saunders, Warrington, even Joyce looks like he'll compete mostly in the UK, unless a big opportunity calls.

For the record, I’m not defending Eddie Hearn, but in terms of broadcasters, his stable of fighters are free agents and DAZN allegedly offers them bigger purses than Sky does. And DAZN expects the events they televise to be staged on US soil.

In order for Sky to compete with those purses and have the Matchroom events staged in the UK, they’ll have to be PPV’s, with this rule applying to the bigger names.

Fighters like Dillian Whyte are reluctant to compete on foreign soil, which is the reason why he’s still headlining Sky Box Office PPV’s.

And hence the reason why a British domestic fighter like Dave Allen, whose popularity was solely a result of his social media exploits, are headlining Sky’s boxing events. DAZN wouldn’t be interested in a fighter like that, since he's only popular in the UK.

The rest of Matchroom’s stable are mercenary’s that are willing to go anywhere expected of them by the highest bidder. Many of them aren't considered big enough names to headline PPV events in the UK, which means that from a financial perspective, their choice is relatively straightforward.

BT's partnership with ESPN may have different terms than Sky's business relationship with DAZN, which might explain the reason for the different approach used by Queensberry and Matchroom promotions.

Joyce jumps ships like a sailor wouldn't be surprised if he is on channel 5 in September haha!

Gorman hasn't faced anyone with near the punching power of Dubois. I think he's a superior boxer, but I can't see him getting passed Dubois' power. Fun while it lasts, but Dubois by KO 6-9 rounds.

I think Dubois is a special talent.
He’s being rushed a bit here though. It’s obvious that BT have been unhappy with the output FW has given them.
Hence the reason his young guns are having significant step-ups in the coming months.
I see Dubois stopping him.

If Dubois is going to start earning for Wazza I.e fighting the top five in the world, he needs to do Gorman in straightforward fashion at this stage of his career. So it's a good match. Any sort of a struggle or a loss and he's a bust.

dubois should have the answers for him though.

should take about 8 or 9 rds to knock the stuffing out of gorman.

I think Dubois hits hard but I'm not sure he is yet a top puncher. He doesn't seem to be one-punching people. He's young and will improve. He's very likeable. I hope he has a great career but I'm not convinced...though want to be.

Got a pull out all over this with a couple of weeks to go , Dubois/Gorman vs import !
