That's some list at pbc but a pretty shallow pool really outside Wilder and what's left of Ortiz. Are Tarver, Cunningham and Flores still fighting?

Only Fury worth mentioning at Top Rank really. Parker could come again maybe but it's going to be tough.

Dubois might be Warren's game changer but it's still early days. Joyce might have a punchers chance in a world title fight but I can't see it.

He has the best guy out there, but in the terms of a stable it's Matchroom, of course.

I think Joshua is the best by a significant margin, I'd consider whyte and usyk top 5. So match room by quite a bit for me.

Dillian Whyte, Dave Allen and many of Eddie Hearn's fighters, except AJ, Usyk, Gazziev and perhaps one or two others, are only on a fight-by-fight basis - this applies to the entire stable, not just heavyweights. The Matchroom boss and 'The Body Snatcher' confirmed this.

And you're right, fighters can be advised/managed by Al Haymon, which means they're listed as PBC fighters, but also promoted by Matchroom (i.e. Hunter, Khan and Jacobs), so they "kind of" straddle both sides of the fence, though they're likely to compete solely under the DAZN banner.

Therefore, the PBC has the best stable of heavyweights, in terms of amount of fighters and typical calibre.

Whyte's affiliation with Matchroom is only on a fight-by-fight basis and has been for a long time. After the Rivas bout in July, he's free to compete for any promoter. He doesn't like travelling overseas though, which means he's likely to continue working with Matchroom, unless he's given the Tyson Fury bout by Queensberry Promotions.

Matchroom also has a few on co-promotional deals for multiple fights, I believe Takam and Povetkin (among others) are on these.

Hunter is also both PBC and Matchroom, Joyce is both PBC and Queensbury, and Rivas is PBC and Top Rank? Really should be Showtime, not PBC.

Same as Showtime with all of theirs I think. That's why these PBC Vs Promoters comparisons don't work.

The PBC is simply a boxing series that is televised by Fox and Showtime. Nearly all of the fighters that compete on their cards are promotional free agents that are either managed or advised by Al Haymon. This means they're free to compete on Queensberry, Top Rank, Matchroom, GBP and other fight cards.

So it's not surprising to see a lot of these “PBC fighters” appearing on other networks, such as ESPN via Top Rank (i.e. Oscar Rivas versus Bryant Jennings) or DAZN via Matchroom (i.e. Andy Ruiz Jr. versus Anthony Joshua or Oscar Rivas versus Dillian Whyte).

Put it this way, when the Jarrell Miller fight fell through for AJ, all three names that were mentioned as potential replacement opponents were all affiliated somehow with Al Haymon/PBC (i.e. Ruiz Jr., Hunter and Ortiz).

If you review all the world title bouts that have taken place since 2016, the majority of them involved a PBC fighter:

• Anthony Joshua vs. Andy Ruiz Jr

• Deontay Wilder vs. Bermane Stiverne
• Deontay Wilder vs. Luis Ortiz
• Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury

It’s almost impossible for any world-rated heavyweight to strategically navigate their careers to becoming a world champion and also defending their titles without inevitably being compelled to face at least one PBC fighter along the way.

Similarly, some of the fighters allegedly affiliated with promoters like Matchroom, only have fight-by-fight ties, such as Dave Allen and Dillian Whyte. This means they automatically become promotional free agents after they’ve competed in their next bout.

A fighter, like Joseph Parker, may have some formal ties with Top Rank (i.e. he has to have his bouts promoted by them if he competes on US soil), is still capable of competing on other networks without Bob Arum’s permission (i.e. Parker versus Joshua [Matchroom]; Parker versus Whyte [Matchroom]; and the soon to be announced Parker versus Chisora [Matchroom]).

What happened to "draw" or "too close to call"?

Matchroom for quality, PBC for quantity with the added bonus that every signature carries a guaranteed shot at the WBC title, provided you're prepared to wait a couple of/ a few, years
