If ever I wanted someone to take a L it will be this weekend - Wilder is a fool!
All this funeral talk goes beyond trash talk for me, it is foolish talk makes me question his character!

Read that this morning. I used to think he was playing the villain but now I think he's actually a deplorable human being. Surely this is just cause to have his license revoked? You'd think any respectable commission would want to avoid having a death in the ring under their supervision, especially when the intent to do so was publicly laid out multiple times.

Why? It's not like he's carrying a gun in the ring. He's just doing what every other fighter does.

Yeah, it's out of order that. He's taking the trash talk too far.

Having the motive to kill is unacceptable in sport, even combat sports. The commission would likely be open to being sued if Breazeale or another of his opponents were to die in the ring. Boxing as a whole would be under investigation and huge scrutiny. Sometimes it's an accident or "part of the sport", but when it's specifically intended and announced so, it's a different story.

I have to agree with Josh on this one - maybe I just view combat sports in a different way for me its a sport and not an ancient gladiatorial sport
I know boxing isn't safe and CTE/brain damage is bound to occur but death is the worst outcome...

Avoids the top competition. Selects lower ranked opponent. Goes around telling how he wants to kill him in the ring. Yeah real man right here.
This clown is bad for boxing.
Also makes hes bum feeding look bad.

If he had a British licence it would likely be suspended for talking shit like that. This is bringing the sport into disrepute.

Lewis also had no children, so there was no chance of it actually happening!

Honestly I don't take what he says seriously
I'm pretty sure he is playing a larger than life WWF-esque character.
But I agree, this isn't the WWF, this is a serious sport. He needs reigning in.
It's strange, because when he did the commentary on the Joshua-Klitschko fight, he came across as a really humble and likeable guy. I suspect that is closer to the truth, but he for some stupid reason is trying to sell this ridiculous persona to the public

Simply put, Wilder is trying too hard to boost his popularity through the attention he thinks he'd get by being outrageous. I don't think he's handled the Fury fight results well.

Trash talk.
It serves Wilder's intended purpose: to draw attention to the fight. Not many people are aware of the bout or very interested.
George Foreman also said in his autobiography that around the time he fought Ali, he was curious about what it would be like to kill an opponent.

True its not WWE but its proven WWE antics is what gets you the serious money. I cant find a better example than what happened with Canelo-GGG
A fight for the lineal middleweight title between two top fighters in their prime finally gets announced. Its the lineal champ in Canelo vs the man most perceive as the best in the division GGG.
A couple of weeks later a fight between a retired boxer and a a guy making his pro debut steals its thunder and out sells every fight in history.
Its a serious sport for a niche fanbase but the main stream wants those WWE antics. Wilder is just performing for the ones who will bring the big bucks.

Wilder is no good. I want to know what happened to the little guy - or girl - who was in that costume on the Spanish language tv show that he sucker punched with all his might and knocked out. As far as I know nobody has ever seen him or her since. Wilder said he didn't know a person was inside the costume. I hope that Wilder gets KO'd bad, but unfortunately I don't think Brezeale is the one who can do it.

Wilder is tempting fate and if ever his WWE-like nonsense monologues like this actually comes to fruition, then I thoroughly expect ‘The Bronze Bomber’ to commit suicide.
Boxing is only a business-oriented sport. No one should pretend otherwise.
I’m surprised the WBC keeps allowing Wilder to say such things without imposing some form of punishment, because he’s blatantly breaching their rules.

I don't know if he'd commit suicide but it would certainly turn his world upside down. Great point EO.

tbh, i doubt every fighter would be bothered by killing someone. ppl assume they wud but its really the ultimate showing of destruction power and i bet a lot wud be proud. i doubt every boxer really has much genuine care about the fate of his opponents either
of course, in public theyd have to put on a show of being so sad etc

I don't think he'll commit suicide but I've wondered if he has AIDS because an athlete normally gains weight as he gets older not loses weight. Others have fought with AIDS before, like Tommy Morrison.
