Do you mean best fights or personal favorites via outcome?

1. Hagler-Hearns
2. Leonard-Hearns I
3. Duran-Leonard I
4. Hagler-Duran (underrated fight, love this)
5. Hearns-Leonard II
6. Leonard-Hagler
7. Leonard-Duran II
8. Hearns-Duran
9. Leonard-Duran III

I think the top three are interchangeable. My bias is towards Hagler-Hearns because it’s the two guys I like the most of the four and my favorite of the four’s finest moment. Those three are MUCH better than the rest as good as some of the others were.

A Marquez/Pacquaio/Morales/Barrera list would be interesting. Perhaps worth a thread too.

I rate them like this:
1. Leonard vs Hearns I: The anticipation and climax was one of the best fights that I have seen in my lifetime. The best fight ever in my eyes that I have seen in my lifetime. I don't remember Ali vs Frazier I. That was before I started to watch boxing.

2. Hagler vs Hearns: The anticipation wasn't as great like Ali vs Frazier I, or Duran vs Leonard I or even Leonard vs Hearns I. But, the action was something that got me in the edge of my seat. The only thing was that it should have gone longer. But sometimes 3 rounds of pure action is better than the fights I see today of 12 full rounds of doing nothing.

3. Duran vs Leonard I: The anticipation and the hoopla was as great as Ali vs Frazier I or Ali vs Foreman or even Louis vs Schmeling II. And the fight didn't dissapoint. It was a fight of the two best fighters pound per pound of the time. The fight that started it all.

4. Hagler vs Duran: A rejuvenated Hands of Stone takes on one of middleweight division's greatest champions ever. To my surprise, Duran goes toe to toe with the bigger man. Marvelous, like a great champion, had to suckered up and win the last 3 rounds to retain his crown.

5. Sugar Ray vs Marvelous Marvin: It should have been in '82 or '83 instead of '87. But, people wanted to watch it because they want it to see how it would have unfold anyway. The Problem that I got with this fight is lack of big time drama. No fighter got hurt at any time. It was 12 rounds instead of 15 for a fight of this magnitude. And no blood nor cuts. Not enough blow by blow exchanges. A beautiful fight by Sugar Ray's fans. He was the winner, win or lose. It was his last great performance. Marvelous looked slipping, missing punches at close range. This fight is not one of my all-time favorites.

6. Leonard vs Hearns II: I got a lot of problems with this fight. For starters, the rematch was 8 years too late. SECOND, It wasn't at Welterweight nor middleweight, but at super middle. THIRD, Both of them were washed up, and it showed. FOURTH, I would have love to see this rematch like in '84 when Hearns was stronger and better at 154. In my opinion, the Hearns that crushed and decapitated Duran in two rounds that night doesn't lose to any version of Leonard you can come up with. No way. He looked terrific! The bigger the weight class, the better for The Hitman. And it showed. Hitman dropped him twice. Enough to win the fight. Leonard was fresher than he, and couldn't knock him out. Hearns was washed up after losing to Iran Barkley. The fight was action packed. The problem with this fight? It was a DRAW.

7. Duran vs Leonard II: I would have loved to see Duran of the Montreal fight fighting THIS LEONARD of New Orleans. The anticipated rematch was a great fight while it lasted. It was only 8 rounds due to Duran's quitting in the middle of the round. It's one of those fights that I have seen more than any other fight that I got in my collection. Until this day, I try to wrestle with an answer. It did had A BIG IMPACT on me. It still does. After beating Sugar Ray, I thought that Duran was the greatest fighter in boxing of all time. I thought that he was bigger than Henry Armstrong. Greater than Sugar Ray Robinson. Greater than Muhammad Ali. Greater than everybody. I wanted him to prove it again, but he didn't. To my surprise, he quit. But, like how Sugar Ray regrouped after the loss in Montreal. That Duran was not in shape for the fight, it's not Sugar Ray's fault but Duran's. He should have been ready for a fight against someone as awesome as he in boxing skill is concerned. But, damn it still hurts. The year 1980 wasn't a good year for a lot of people. First, Ali Loses to Larry Holmes. Duran quits. And John Lennon got shot to death. And Colonel Sanders dies.

8. Hearns vs Duran: At 154lbs, I didn't see no chance in hell that Duran was going to pull this one. I never ever thought that he was going to be knocked out, either. But it wasn't that he got knocked out. It's how did he got knocked out! It was one of those greatest one punch knockouts that I have ever seen in my lifetime. That straight right hand by Hearns to Duran's jaw was Classic. I didn't cry because he lost by knockout. By that time, I was already ready for a loss by Duran. He already lost to Wilfred Benitez. He already lost to Kirkland Laing. He already lost to Marvelous. Another loss by Duran wasn't going to put me to lose any sleep like he did in '80 in New Orleans. That Duran was not in shape? It wasn't Hearns' business. I can't see Duran beating that Hitman at 154lbs of that night. Too big and too fast and too powerful. Hearns had all the physical and age advantages. Duran was ready for a good bye birthday party from boxing. It was fitting for him to finish that way. But, to my surprise, Duran won another title at age 37? After losing by a devastating knockout of that magnitude? That's incredible! That's why I rate Duran as the best fighter ever since 1965.

9. Duran vs Leonard III: Nuff said. I have not even watched that fight since then. And I am not taking my time to watch it now. What a load of cow's dung to put it decently. Both fighters looked like dung, especially Duran. I guess that they both knew it was their last big payday.
