Louder than a Bomb: Deontay Wilder-Dominic Breazeale Preview

While Joshua is a more complete offensive fighter than Wilder—“A. J.” throws straighter punches, is more compact, and often punctuates combinations with a hook—Breazeale has to worry about swapping blows with a man whose KO power is as legitimate an attribute as any in boxing. And some of these Wilder results have been chilling: Johann Duhaupas resembled something an industrial meat grinder would expel; Artur Szpilka was removed from the ring on a gurney; Bermane Stiverne looked like he had been sideswiped by a Pontiac GTO. These finishes, perhaps, have not been violent enough to suit Wilder. In an (over)determined effort to raise his profile among connoisseur and casual alike, Wilder has lowered himself into the gutter, where much of the American sporting psyche dwells, and where a boxer of limited ability (see Adrien Broner) can remain a headline staple because of the extracurricular—and often extralegal—antics so popular with TMZ and the clickbait crowd.

- Both Grade B talents at best have been easily outboxed by lessor fighters.

Deyonce eye butchered by short notice TBA Duhaupas who deserved the stoppage, not Deyonce, but with the spectacular ri$e of AJ, Haymon looking to cash out the dear. Breazeale to be wearing the ref all nite, and if the dear needs extra time as he did against Ortiz, it's a done deal.

Both slow starters with Deyonce quicker and Dom stronger, but he does throw a straight right that can finish the wide open Deyonce and has the motivation and chin to hang in for that moment.

Pretty much a crap shoot with loaded dice that favors Deyonce, but win, lose or draw, Haymon guaranteed the winner. Follow the $$$.

That's where the main excitement will be. Probably also where Breazeale's main (only?) chance lies.

Edgy night for Haymon, Finkel and co.

This won't be much.

Breazeale's just an ordinary guy. He's been dropped by far lesser lights than Wilder.

Doubtful that he'll make much of a fight of it once he tastes the power.
