Are You Buying the Joshua-Ruiz PPV?

Will be interesting to see how AJ’s first US PPV goes. I usually buy the Joshua bills as my mates are all casuals and love AJ so we chip in and make a night of it. Not looking like we’re going to do it for this show though, crap card and crap time.

Do you and your mates order other US ppv cards in the UK?
Like Wilder vs. Fury?

My mates don’t really watch any boxing apart from Joshua. They can’t stand Fury, bores them senseless. Casuals pretty much always only like aggressive fighters.

You're right. Or whoever is popular.. Or whoever the crowd is following.

Unless I'm out of the country I always buy all of them.

No - and I normally buy them all.
This will be the first Joshua fight I haven't watched live. Just don't have any real interest in it and can't be bothered waiting up till 4am or whatever for the fight.

Is there no interest mainly because it's on in the early hours?
I mean had it been Joshua vs. Ruiz in the UK on PPV, you'd have ordered it?

Yes, I think that has a lot to do with it. If it was in the UK I'd buy and watch.
Equally if it was Joshua v Wilder....I'd buy and watch (even at 4am).
But a fight against run of the mill opposition ....and this time in the morning......I can't be bothered.

Makes sense.

Joshua wins by KO. Crap bill and I never watch the women anyway. If Joshua fights Wilder, Fury or Whyte I would buy it. Apart from those fights I am done with PPV.

Buying it?
No. No I'm not. If it was in my back garden I wouldn't get up at 5am to watch it to be honest.

Ive got a sneaking feeling this is going to be better than expected.
I can see Joshua underperforming, Ruiz will be better than normal, on top of that Ruiz isn't a bad fighter.
I think he will def do as well as Parker did against Joshua

It's a "next day on youtube" one this time. Don't mind paying the usual £20 when its prime time on a Sat night, but I wouldn't stay up anyway for Joshua vs Ruiz so I'm not paying for a recording.

I have actually had a few quid on Ruiz to win on Betfair..... just in case.
I don't expect him too, but a few quid at these odds is a nice payout should a shock happen.

Living in Switzerland, DAZN is £10/month and shows all the big fights, not just Matchroom cards.

Taylor and Kelly are the only two fights that are well matched and I just can’t make myself care about women’s boxing in any way. I’m not paying PPV in the middle of the night to watch one potentially competitive fight at the development stage of a guys career.
I’ve seen 8/9 of Ruiz’s fights and I’ve no idea why anyone thinks he’ll be remotely competitive. He’s a decade into his career and his best win is arguably against a very shop worn Dimitrenko FFS. He’s short, fat, doesn’t have much of any one punch power and has an extremely padded record. Smith and Buatsi are going on against blown up old guys from the weight below.

Yes because I done some thinking... and I thought that as the fight was on a Saturday usually I would go to the pub and maybe drink 10 pints of lager (I drink kroneburg) Which in my local is £4.85 a pint .so that’s 48.50 So if I stay at home and buy cans instead of pints I reckon I will drink 15 cans which is 15 quid for kronenburg altho sometimes I drink Budweiser which is marginly cheaper. So if I buy PPV its 19.95 plus £15 = £34.95 so I save £13.55 and also I will not buy a kebab on the way home so I think I would save even more
So that’s why I’m going to buy the card
Smart move buying it is financially responsible

Kelly will just ponce his way through the fight. He's been dismal viewing under booth. Taylor is always poor to watch. You watch one round and you've seen the rest. Joshua ruiz is actually an interesting fight though.

I said to my mrs that I'm a fan of Josh Kelly- except when he showboats.
She said; when doesn't he?
