Tomorrow, the 4th November is the 24th Anniversary of the death of the Merthyr Matchstick Johnny Owen.

God bless Johnny. A true warrior, who went into the lion's den and paid the ulitmate price. I'm sure Lupe Pintor is thinking of him right now.

That final right hand that finished Owen should be used as an example why one should never seriously question the valour of a fighter who turns his back when he feels he can't win and the going is getting too tough.
I was only 8 when he passed away but I've never forgotten him. My thoughts go out to him and his parents, who have been through (and no doubt still do) the worst pain you could imagine – losing their child.
