Joshua showed great sportsmanship after losing, even tho he quit on his feet...but he looked so happy after the fight like he couldn't stop smiling. Weird.

He appeared to be fine, not glassy eyed or slurring words or anything.

Hard to know what he was doing.
Maybe concussed and goofy, maybe trying to show that he wasn’t hurt, maybe even after a bad loss sticking with the Matchroom media training and staying humble, being sportsmanlike

It's not particularly odd if you are an old-school fight fan and seen men like Joe Louis lose fights and seem somber as hell and all congratulatory. All about maintaining the image.

I really really like the old school sportsmanship but I never saw anyone look so happy. If it was a suspicious one punch phony knock out fight I'd think the guy threw it looking so happy, but this fight had absolutely no suspicious elements, except of course the usual crooked judges' score cards, but that's a given.

He didn’t attend the post fight presser straight away. He was getting checked out.
I think those head shots did take a bit outta him.

Joshua showed good sportsmanship. Said all the correct things in defeat.
He even kept his father from tearing apart Hearn in the post-fight ring.
Boxing's dads today are getting so way over the top.

Well no, he's not a Gillette Metoo girly boy!
Who was that fighter they were interviewing later? he was also puzzled by this. He said he got very depressed when he lost, which is natural. Oh well I don't know. I guess Joshua's just a nice friendly guy.

Two judges had Ruiz up by one point, one judge had AJ up by a point. There was nothing wrong with the cards at the time of stoppage.

AJ up by a point? Fraid not. Ruiz was up by more than one point too.

It was a 1 point fight. Either way.
Except for the 3rd, not a lot separated the 2 in the other 5 rounds.

Some people just smile and play it off like it’s no big deal when they lose.

I had Ruiz up by a point midway. I didn't see anything wrong with the cards.

Seriously, AJ was all class last night. No excuses (yet) and all the kudos for Ruiz. He is a gentleman and deserves our respect.

I prefer a display of great sportsmanship, would people rather he’d have made loads of excuses and diminished Ruiz’s achievement? A champion should conduct themselves as such even after they lose their title...

Right. In reality, it took him 13 years to fully recover.

I'd say that it took him exactly 20 years to exorcise the ghosts of Zaire.

Big George II was mentally rehabilitated long before he chinned Double M. He couldn’t have comeback from Holy and the Duke had he not been able to handle loss.

He had 5 million reasons to smile! Both Gentleman Gerry and Gentleman Joshua seem to both share the wish to be liked at all times.

Fighters smile all the time to cover up the pain.
They're trying to convince us that it really doesn't bother them all that much. It's just a sports event and not a big deal to lose.
Maybe they're trying to convince themselves too.
