Take the 7/2 Rios Points with Blue Sq. The Argie is a quality operator (only loses to genuine world class fighters) but only 7 of his 38 wins have come inside. Cook really struggles with the weight so this price looks a real tempter. Unless Cook uncorks that hook he flattened Casamonica with in Italy this one is going to the scorecards. Rios has the skills to pull this out. You know it makes sense....

I think its a distance fight but my question is Rios' ambition. I know Hatton is an all together different prospect than Cook, but he had no intentions of winning that contest and here he might be content on surviving.

Do Sky Bet have any odds for this fight ?.

The bookies running for cover? Hope a few of you managed to get some of the 7/2. Cook looked horribly drawn at the weigh-in. I fancy Rios to be far more ambitious than he was against Hatton. In that one he was really in a "no lose" situation (fighting at the weight above, rating not in danger etc). A lot different here.

I think we should start posting erroneous opinions to try and foil our bookmaking friends. Let's start by suggesting there's NO WAY Kostya Tzsyu gets out of the first round tomorrow night.

I'm sure your joking, but to even suggest that ANY message board would influence a world market or any big online sportsbook's odds like Pinnacle, B365, Sportsbook.com, Aces, ... etc is absurd. They all have 100's of thousands of customers that both follow boxing or simply numbers. Its not always about short term who is going to win as much as long term 'value' in a number.

This is bollocks. The message board would have an effect if someone from here steamed into a certain market when nothing much else was happening on it.

I know for a fact that me and my mate moved a certain market on the Tote a few years ago. They were offering 7/2 for Dravid to be top run scorer in the World Cup, another bookie 7/2 for Ganguly. Both were well ahead of the rest of the field at the time. We backed both and won a good few quid. A minute after my substantial bet with the Tote, the odds were massively slashed.

Little else was happening and they had just taken on a massive liability, so of course the price moved.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the lads on here - me included who won a nice packet - shifted the odds with Skybet...not that they are a major player, granted.

i know for a fact that the oddsmaker for William Hill used to visit another forum I went to, and he openly stated that he came there to get advice. He could of course have been lying about his job, but i fail to see what the advantage was.

I am not questioning the idea that oddsmakers come to this site, in fact I guarantee they do. Its the idea put forth that the 'opinions' as opposed to money/wagers are moving the odds. If a place gets bet, they move the number. Perhaps I misread what was being said and then was misunderstood myself. Maybe I should have said something like........'in my opinion it would be a waste of time and detrimental to the forum IF we were all to start posting erroneous, untrue, information because it would take away from the credibility of this site. You see how oter forums get accused of nuthugging fighters. Well we would be nuthugging the flavor of the week for little to no gain.' Its ez to weed thru the good and bad info and posters. There are many message boards worldwide, and this is one of the better ones that actually has a few gamblers on it.
