KO MAGAZINE was my favorite. I preferred it over RING MAGAZINE easily. It gave more information. They would give you complete rankings of the WBA, WBC, WBO & IBF (top fifty). I hate that they went out of business years ago.

I loved their dream fights and that heavy tourney that I somehow missed the end of. I had like 10 large boxes full that I tossed when I moved out of pops. Crazy thing is I had stashed 5k in with them years earlier and forgot about it. Found it when I browsed through before I trashed them.

That must've been an exciting find! But why did you do that in the first place? Divorce?

Lol, no I was like 18. Delving into things better left unsaid. A vendor used to pay me in ones and I just stuffed them in there for safe keeping and completely forgot about it.

I have a bunch from the 1990s I am willing to part with. A few from the 1980s. If you have any particular date in mind post them.

I will look but I'm pretty sure I only have a couple of late '80s - many 1990s. Sorry, will look.

p.s. for a laugh if you have February 1987 check out the last page 68, I have a letter to the editor published. It's the only mag I intend to keep.

I appreciate it. I will look at your letter. That’s great! I had a subscription to the Ring for years. I always liked KO better. The articles, the layout, the features.

Sorry but I wasted your time. I have nothing that can help you with the 1980s. I guess other than that one mag I wasn't hanging on to them in the 80s.

I looked through what I got and from 1994 to 2000 I have almost everyone and then a depleted collection starting in 1990 through 1993. I have no love for them so if you need anything from that time period let me know.

I guess it is my Ring Magazines that go back into the '80s. I will have to go pull those boxes out.

I have around 25 issues of Boxing Illustrated, also Boxing's '94 and World Boxing.

I liked the articles in KO better myself, I remember there was an editor named "Jeff ?.?.?" who wasn't an idiot and I enjoyed reading his stuff. Plus Ring never published any of my letters. :brick:

I LOVED KO in the 1980s. It was the first magazine I ever bought. Starling, Honeyghan, Hagler, Leonard - those were the days. I didn’t keep any though.

You didn’t waste my time. I appreciate you trying to help me. Jeff Ryan is who you are thinking about. I liked his column as well. Thanks again

Are you wanting to sell? I need more of the early 80’s (80-83) but I still need quite a few. I listed them above. Trying to complete the set.

Hi Brian

I think they are mostly in my mom's loft. I go down there in the summer and can dig them out.

Cool. Thank you very much. Now with forums like this you can find fighters records. Back then KO was the only way I knew of to find records via centerfold. I amassed a fairly large fight collection, unfortunately VHS. So many tapes that I don’t have the energy to transfer to DVD. With YouTube you can watch them all now and some I never could find. Having KO I could see what fights I had and didn’t.
