Yuniel Dorticos vs Andrew Tabiti

WBSS Cruiserweight SF on the Glowacki/Briedis card on Sky this Saturday, again as I mentioned in the other semi final thread ive not been exactly bowled over by the Cruisers yet, all QFs were shite, Dorticos usually always give good value was pretty boring against Masternak, deserved his win no doubt but I thought Bellew done a better job on Masternak when he fought him about 5 years ago, maybe Dorticos has that same issue a lot of Cubans seem to have where their never the same after a loss?

I don't rate Tabiti at all, thought he drew his QF with Fayfer in another snoozer, flat boring and unwilling to go through the gears, wasn't impressed with him when he stopped Kayode either, i'd have to go with Dorticos to come through on points assuming he isn't too gunshy,, he's quicker and has a quick jab and comes over well with the right hand

Tabiti trained by Mayweathers and some sparring and training videos I’ve seen make him look a rapid explosive fighter, then seems very cautious in the ring. The style of pad holding they do could flatter anyone, I’ve seen Kevin Hart do it FFS and he didn’t look bad.

The philly shell isn’t as common among the big guys, and maybe less so with an aggressive puncher like Tabiti supposedly is. This fight is interesting because Dorticos is relentless and throws many overhand rights and that’s the punch you throw to get round a shoulder-roll defence. You defend that with bend and the waist and come back with an uppercut, which I’ve seen Tabiti do before.

Styles could really mesh, but they both have to turn up in the right mood.

I think this is because they never have big promotional backing. Why invest in building the profile of a Cuban with a loss on his record? They have to fight back to the top the hard way I think.

BOOMING right hand from Dorticos to close the show! Was a bit worried for Tabiti directly after, looked in a bad bad way initially.
