Both with Matchroom this a possible match up! Parker not much bigger than Hunter.
Who wins?

I'd toss some coin on hunter as a dog. I like Michael against a good bit of the top 15. Hell, I still like him against Andy.

Joseph Parker has faced a lot of top/decent heavyweights, such as: Anthony Joshua, Dillian Whyte, Andy Ruiz Jr, Carlos Takam and Hughie Fury. The Kiwi acquitted himself quite well against all those guys. He’s also bigger than Hunter as well and has fast hands.
Hunter hasn’t achieved anything of note as a cruiserweight or as a heavyweight. He suffered a one-sided loss to Usyk, but many guys would inevitably suffer the same fate. It’s hard to gauge his pugilistic talents based on the fact he’s only ever faced one world-rated opponent, which resulted in him being comprehensively out-boxed.
That being said, I wasn’t impressed by Hunter’s performance against Alexander Ustinov. He seemed to lack power in that bout, which is going to be a huge issue for him to overcome, considering the fact that he’s relatively small in comparison to average heavyweights (i.e. 6’ 4½” in height weighing 254lbs).
Therefore, I’d have to favour Joseph Parker scoring a unanimous decision victory over a game and spirited version of Michael Hunter.

I think Parker takes it by the strength of his chin.

Thats a pretty fair assessment EO.
Personally I would like Hunter to have a few more fights with better opponents as I think he needs experience at higher HW levels. Then, if he can get through that, it would be an entertaining match up, and I would still think Parker could grind out a win in a very watchable contest.

I disagree somewhat. I remember watching the Cojanu and Fury defenses and thinking he looking average in both. He couldn't even touch Fury, who lost that fight by not throwing punches and at least Parker tried. The Cojanu was appalling. He allowed Whyte to bully him. Ok the headbutt had an effect but still...

Hunter will whoop Parker. Actually both a quite skillful, but Hunter is sharper and more confident in the ring. Parker only bullied some lesser opposition. Almost every his top level fight was controversial. And Hunter whooped Bakole. Bakole seems decent.

I don't really remember him being remotely threatening in the fight with Joshua either.
It seemed like AJ won that fight on autopilot.

Very interesting fight. I'd pick Parker to win but that's not because I don't rate Hunter. He's more proven against the big fellahs, but that is no guarantee he'd win of course. I don't see it finishing early as they both have good chins and neither are ferocious punchers.I see Hunter as the better tactician but Parker might outwork him.

That's the thing with Parker though. He falls into periods of not working during fights.

It has been known admittedly. He does have a tendency to take a breather during a fight but overall I'd say his workrate is pretty good. Opponents like Ruiz and Whyte are going to encourage most fighters to want to coast where they can. I don't see Hunter pressuring him like that, although he will present him with other problems to solve.

Just commenting on "Parker outworking him." I don't see that. Maybe at times, but not throughout the fight. I'd give Hunter a very good chance.

No it was a fair comment. I'd say 60/40 maybe 55/45 Parker.

I would favour Hunter in this hypothetical match up, I think he’d be busier and more aggressive. Parker isn’t a massive heavyweight so I think this could be a good scalp for Hunter. I think it would be a close fight though...
