Welterweight action live from Canada on B/Nation this Saturday, unbeaten home fighter Clayton takes on the experienced Perez in a scheduled 10 rounder, Clayton is 16-0(11KOs) is a former 2012 Olympian and lost to Fred Evans in the QFs, he's coming off a stoppage win over Corley, Ive seen Perez a good few times over the years but ive not seen him in ages he's been in with some good guys, has wins over Forbes, Kamegai and Spadafora, he has losses to Cano, Herrera and Sadam Ali

Ive noticed that B/nation have picked up a few of these kind of shows from across the pond, more the merrier I say but they need to up their world title content, Commey vs Beltran this weekend and no sign of it

Clayton wins a fairly comfortable UD, although he had to get up off the canvas after getting decked from a right hand in the 3rd, might have been a balance issue but a Perez did land a cuffing right, I had Clayton ahead 97-92 at the end, Perez made it tough for the first 8 rounds, getting up close and putting punches together, it was Clayton's right hands that were making the difference though, they were laser sharp, its a quality punch he throws, Perez took them all well in all fairness but they were the shots that were winning Clayton rounds

It wasn't until the 9th that Clayton started to work the body of Perez, it looked as if he was feeling the lefts Clayton was digging in and he was starting to come apart and Clayton finished well in control, if it wad 12 rounder maybe Clayton could've got the stoppage

One of the better fights of the weekend

Watched Steven Donnelly of Ballymena beat Clayton in amateurs - he’s now with MTK.

Got a chance to watch this back last night & it was definitely one of the better bouts this past weekend, I agree that Clayton may well have ended it inside the distance if he had the extra 2 rounds. Perez slowed down somewhat late on but he came to win & tried to throw a lot of combos as opposed to just looking to survive. He was also caught flush on numerous occasions via the right hand of Clayton but wasn't perturbed.
