LOL! What a ridiculous matchup. What are his handlers thinking? Hrg needs a step up fight or else he'll be in shock when/if he gets any kind of shot at a top 10 HW.

He's seen the opportunity to add some easy Boxrec points. What else does he achieve? nothing.

He just beat a former world champion so I guess that gives him some kudos...

Disappointed with this opponent for hrgovic. Guess it’s so matchroom can sell more tickets with a mexican opponent. They will bang on about how heredia’s record doesn’t matter because he beat a former world champ that even hughie fury will destroy this weekend. Should be fighting someone much better because it’s going to be a blowout again

Fighting away with an experienced fighter... not so bad, if he’s gonna stay active and keep building up, Herredia is a good choice.

Can't put much stock in a win over Peter anymore.
Peter is a whopping 100-1 underdog to Hughie Fury.
Hughie Fury!

Doesn't seem like progress compared to Amir Mansour and Kevin Johnson. Right now, Hrgovic should be fighting somewhat more challenging opponents like Fedosov, Dimitrenko, Kean, Szpilka, or Huck. It seems like his handlers' plan is to keep matching him against #65ish guys forever, and then when he's 29, just rapidly try to move him up to world class. Not the smartest progression.

Most Mexican heavyweights have traditionally been fat.
Often 5'7" battlers who don't want to train hard and get down to the middleweight division they belong in.
Manuel Ramos was a fit fighter however.
But most look like Ruiz and Arreola.
Considering how many legendary fighters have come out of that country, it's surprising that there haven't been at least a few more world class heavies.

But short stature seems to get in the way.
I know. I live 8 miles from the border. At least Mexicans finally have a HW champ now!! Look at how many height-deprived nationalities have never had a HW champ yet: Japanese, Colombian, Dominican, Panamanian, etc.
An old buddy of mine used to be a "water boy" at fights in the historic Olympic Auditorium in LA. He has always said Manny Ramos was one tough sucka!!

Ramos was tough. He beat guys like Machen and Terrell.
He hit Frazier with a right hand and Joe's legs began dancing.
But then Ramos sat back and watched Joe recover, letting his golden opportunity pass.
Frazier dispatched Ramos in the next round, and the Mexican's career never went anywhere after that.

I’m not sure why people are disappointed about this. It’s Hrgovic’s second bout within three months and is clearly a stay-busy tune-up fight.
If you take a look at the top 25 heavyweights, they’ve either: recently fought; tasted defeat in their most recent outing; suspended; or have fights lined-up.
We have to give him the benefit of the doubt on this one and hope that Matchroom can give him better opposition in the near future.

Less Hammer or the Reptile
i expected...
Herredia is overrated, no defense no chin
i dont see how he can survive 2-3 rounds
i think for Hrgovic he can learn anything only scores 9:0
