This French flyweight and Olympic champion is on the verge of a world title fight he is WBA/WBO No1 contender and European champion I remember watching him win his gold medal anuone seen him as a pro.

Good amateur wasn't he. Not seen him yet as a pro but Raff (who sometimes posts here) is bound to have.

French boxing going through a good phase at the moment, might have to take the bird to Paris when there is a decent bill on.

He won Olympic gold at the same games as Audley Harrison and turned pro around the same time.

Compare his progress to that of his super heavy contemporary.

His countrys national champion in his 11th fight, European champ in his 14th defended it a couple of times, as well as winning a few daft WBA International titles too and now he's number one contender for good 'world' title. He's had one fight less than Harrison too.

Makes you realise how badly Harrison has done really.

i see what you are saying and agree, but those little guys tend to get shots much earlier.... loads of them have world title fights after 10-12 bouts

As I have said most of the Amateurs with decent proffesional potential are usually fight for, or knocking on the door, of a world title fight by the time of the next Olympics.

Harrison is knocking on the door of the British title, big difference.

This works with the Heavyweights aswell - Lennox lewis - Gold medalist (1988 world champion January 1993), Ray Mercer, Tyrell Biggs, Wladimir Klitchko, Vitali Klitchko, Riddick Bowe, Evander Holyfield, Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, George Foreman - all were knocking on the door of a world title (at the very least) at the time of the next Olympics.

Harrison will never amount to anything, his career may as well be over already.

Yes it isn't looking good is it? I had hoped he might at least have a go and if he failed, well at least he tried....

But he has really managed himself down an alleyway, he has been a bit unlucky with results around him, Williams beating Tyson for one taking a lot of attention away from him but he should have moved quicker, to move slower than the fighters mentioned above is ridiculous especially given his age.

Did this guy beat Navarro on his way to the gold? If so, I remember both of them well - it was the fight of the games for me.

Asloum is going well...he is stepping up fast, even i, thought Arambulet would be too early for him, still Asloum outboxed him outpowered and outworked him...Arambulet went down and barely made it to the end, because Asloum's trainer did not want him to try and finish off the work...Asloum has much greater punching power than his record may show...Michel Accaries wants him to work on 12 rounders to have Asloum ready on stamina...i precise that i have been watching all 17 fights of Asloum from the very beginning...he is still learnig a lot, still he already has all that needs to be the champ...he could easily beat the small Narvaez or Parra...
