LMAO! But it does put a bit of a wrench in the works when ranking the fringe contenders, at least a bit.

you weren't alone. Very surprising not only winning but coming from behind.

Oh damn was that today? I wanted to see it. Yeah I'm shocked too. I thought Helenius would knock him out. And yes I think Kownacki is "a total beast".

He didn't just knock him out. He laid him out for minutes. I was like, "is that Gerald Washington?"

He was behind and blew him out in the 8th. Helenius was down for a while. Long right hand on the chinny chin chin after having him hurt earlier in the round.

I don't rate either very highly, but I think a 'bit' of a wrench in the works in the 25-35 rated hw's is a fair statement.

I said it was a crossroads fight where Washington had a chance to win. Helenius hasn't been the same since the Chisora fight and I feel bad for him, but all it takes is one shot to turn everything around.

That was shocking indeed. It was even more shocking considering the fact, that Washington didn't just catch him, but gave Helenius a fight. In the middle of it Washington looked better. Helenius later took over, but then he was KOed. I rated Helenius pretty high prior to this bout, but now it's probably time to write him off.

A big career boost for Washington, who had lost most of his credibility. But, in hindsight, he's never lost to anyone who isn't currently considered top 10 or so. It would be interesting to see Washington fight someone else in the #25-30 ballpark like Sergey Kuzmin, Carlos Takam, Charles Martin, Marco Huck, or Evgeny Romanov.

He is still a decent test for the rising contenders.

Didn't think of that. I'd think he's probably favourite now.
