not sure how it could be a cash out fight really,
Not against it as such but don't understand why they want to do it. Can anyone come up with a scenario where it makes real money?

The Telegraph reports in what can only be described twilight's last gleaming:
Anthony Mundine will fly to Brisbane on Saturday to announce a comeback fight against Gold Coast kickboxing great John Wayne Parr.
The bout will be fought under boxing rules with a weight limit of 75kg.
The fight will be formally announced on Saturday night at Brisbane’s Pullman Hotel fight night where the two old rivals will come face to face.
Mundine says he does not want to be remembered for his 96-second KO defeat against Jeff Horn last November and is confident of outboxing the hard-as-nails Gold Coast fighter.
As well as more than a hundred kickboxing and Muay Thai fights, Parr is a former Australian middleweight boxing champion.
Brisbane promoter Steve Wijangco said the fight would take place either at the Gold Coast Convention Centre or Brisbane Convention Centre in November and would be promoted as Australia’s version of the Floyd Mayweather-Conor MacGregor fight – two champs from different combat sports in the twilight of their careers.
The weight limit will be 4kg more than when a weight-drained Mundine went down against Horn at Suncorp Stadium last November.
Mundine is 44 and Parr, 43, although the Gold Coast fighter has been much more active in the ring in recent years, winning kickboxing bouts in Brisbane, Florence, London and California.
He has another kickboxing bout in Japan scheduled for August as a warm-up for the Mundine fight.

I'm stoked for JWP getting this opportunity, but it;'s clearly a cash grab fight for both and nothing more. And if I watch it, Ill watch it as just that.

JWP deserves the pay day. The at his level in MT or KB deserve more for what they put their bodies through but for whatever reasons their sport just doesn’t make them the kind of money that I wished it did.
It’s an odd choice of opponent unless it is to give JWP some potentially life changing money.

Definitely a cash out fight, actually sad to see Mundine still fighting after seeing what he did so early in his career with so little experience in boxing.
Records going into the fight:
'The man' Anthony Mundine - 44 years old - 48(28)/9(4)/0
'The gun slinger' John Wayne Parr - 43 years old - 10(10)/3(0)/0 boxing, 99(46)/ 33(?)/0 kick boxing.

I defintely agree that JWP deserves the pay and you're right about MT/KB not getting the pay they deserve at that level.
What I am curious about though, is where JWP came from as opponent. I know they're billing it as a "Floyd-Connor mixed styles" bout, but I wonder if that's it or there's something else (not implying shady, I know it could sound that way)

JWP is getting a bit of a following on social media which could be a cause but aside from that I’ve always felt that Mundine has given Australian boxers a chance to fight him for a pay day.

I guess Mundine sees one last chance to squeeze some cash out of the Australian public. I haven’t heard of this kickboxer chap, hopefully he can make some decent coin too...

JWP had a great 12 round fight against Nader Hamden although it was many years ago. I would rather see Mundine call it a day as it’s hard to see that he has much left after his 96sec blowout against Horn. In saying that it’s hard to pick a winner as JWP has been fighting kickboxing and Choc looks shot. I’ll probably go for a look seeing it’s in Qld and hopefully we get a decent undercard although that doesn’t usually happen at Mundine fights.

Think Choc is well past his use by date , JWP is still tough and although not the young man he was , may well still be in good enough condition to jump Mundine and get a stoppage , . If he can't do that , Mundine points , personaly i don't care what they say about Mundine i've always been a big fan ,,,
For me that fight against Ottke was one of the best performances i've ever seen from an Aussie boxer , for a virtual novice to of fought and beat the likes of Guy Waters and Sam Soilliman was a great effort , and then fight the unbeaten world champ in his 12 th fight i think it was , and come close to winning , Because lets have it right , Mundine got beat on the night by sheer exhaustion , he was winning and laid his heart and soul on the line , got caught and just simply did'nt have any energy left a terrific effort .
Where Mundine is concerned , i really think peoples hate for the Man , clouded there judgement of what a good athlete / boxer he was .
