I love a big fight but 12 thousand tickets sold for Saturday night so it should not be box office. No problem paying for a big fight but it should have to get the public’s attention

The problem is that they decided long ago that Whyte's next fight will be on PPV before they even had an opponent locked down.
Rivas is a good opponent, but the casuals will never have heard of him, the PPV buys will likely be modest like the ticket sales.

I expect Eubank Jr to have the same problem with his next fight, I like Ryder and it would be a decent fight if that is who they go for.
But it won't have anywhere near the interest of the Groves or Degale fights.

As long as Whyte keeps winning I expect him to be PPV. Do people forget he played hardball for the Joshua rematch. Seemingly he’s done decent PPV buys in his fights v Parker and Chisora so he will need now be earning many millions per fight.

If he does win Saturday it will be interesting to see who he fights next.

Yeah completely takes the piss to have a PPV where they can’t even sell out the fvcking venue (and its not exactly Wembley sized capacity anyway, is it). Just shows it’s not about ‘demand’ for the event, just a cashgrab.

just not worth it. i read my boxing news for the preview, listen to bunce and costello podcast for interviews and info, then listen to the actual fight on the radio. 20 quid for any of these fights is just a joke.

Amazes me that quite literally anybody on Earth would buy this fight. There's precisely zero appeal.

I think the majority of people buying this will be buying it for Dave Allen vs David price ? Both have pretty big fan bases , but it will do poor numbers on the whole

I’m half tempted to buy it - although I agree wholeheartedly that it isn’t PPV worthy - make of that what you will!

It’s a good card with some well matched fights but none of the guys involved are elite level or ever likely to be.

I’d only be buying as my lass is away for the weekend with her mates and I’ll have been working all day and have a free night. If there’s something else decent on I won’t bother though. Haven’t bought a PPV in years and years - would be odd to break the habit with this!

Unfortunately, Whyte wants a purse of at least more than £1m.. the only way Sky will folk anything over £1m for him, is sticking it on PPV. He makes the money now on his own popularity.

It’s Hearn’s fault too, but he’s a business man. He needed another box office guy after Bellew retired.

Whyte-Parker did good numbers, why? Because over a million people bought Joshua-Parker a few months earlier. They knew who Parker was. Not that it was a PPV fight. Both boxers wanted 7 figures each.

Whyte-Chisora II did decent numbers, why? Because everyone who watched the first bout knew what these 2 can leave in the ring. Again, not that it deserved PPV.

This fight will not do as well as those 2, but I feel will be a competitive fight. I believe it’s a 60-40 Whyte.

How many Boxers are PPV worthy in the UK? Hardly many really. And majority NEED the right dance partner for it to be a PPV.

It’s no way a PPV, probably worth streaming but thats about it, the fact they can’t shift tickets tells you how good a card it is.

Whyte is a decent level heavyweight slugger, but no way is he PPV.

box office fights should be for champions of the world , deffending there titles against real contenders

I'm hoping with Eddie's recent speeches about improving the quality of SNF - that these Whyte PPVs will be the exception to the rule - I wonder though how much Eddie had to pay to get Whyte still on side.

He shouldn't be a PPV fighter and adding a worn European Level fighter and an area / fringe UK level fighter on the card isn't a big help - albeit in decent fights.

PPVs should be proper world title fights - and preferable more than 1.

Yeh. Most American cards that are on regular tv. especially PBC cards, usually have 2 world title fights.

In modern boxing and its explosion on the number of "world" titles, it is quite a feat to put on a card without some sort of "world" strap up for grabs. I congratulate Eddie on not only pulling off the impossible, but also doing it on PPV.

Not to mention there’s another PPV next month with Luke Campbell ( ) in the main event. Matchroom seem to be completely incapable of putting on a half decent show without PPV. They’re not getting any more money off me, that’s for certain.

According to Hearn it’s to do with rights fees. They not increasing, but boxers purses are increasing. Sky need to pull their finger out.

I won't pay for PPV anymore, follow fights on BBC website and then watch for free on sky later in the week .

Pbc have had loads of American PPV s this year though.

Even talk of Danny Garcia v Mikey garcia but that has died down a lot

Especially on top of the small fortune I pay for Sky Sports already.
But I bought it and enjoyed it, so...

Same. Luckily Rivas was a live dog and I enjoyed most of the undercard. When you think of Whytes success since AJ, and who he has fought- plus the entertaining fights, meh, he deserves some good money more than Fury for his warmups and that German bloke.

Nice. I watched it on vipbox from Chisora fight onwards. Decent stream and it lasted right to the end of the main even surprisingly.
