I know we don't get to see all the fights that are happening this weekend but we have some cracking ones:-

Hare v's Barnes (also few goods fighters on the undercard)
Witter's European title defence
Heavyweight Bill in USA featuring, Golota, Byrd, Mcline, Ruiz, McCall, Holyfield, Williamson, Beck, Barrett
Siaca V's Kessler

Bit pissed off that Witter fight is shown on Saturday instead of Friday night, the bastards, anyway should be interting to see the outcome of these battles.

My money is on Golota v Ruiz to be a much more entertaining fight than people expect. I also anticipate Ruiz gets knocked the fornicate out.

we can only hope!!!!

I would love to see Golota become world champ, he is similar in a way to Danny Williams pre-tyson, all the tools to be a great fighter but just a mental barrier.

He should have beaten Tyson, he had got past the difficult bit and just had to keep throwing shots, Mike would have gone.

We all know he beat Bowe twice, who had just knocked out Holyfield, Gonzalez and Herbie.

He also burst Michael Grants bubble but again something upstairs messed him up....

If only he had the right mentality, because he had all the physical attributes, big and strong, ferocious and a quick combination puncher.

I'm sick to death of Ruiz. Boring to watch, no personality, and constantly being WBA champ even though he's shite.

I bet Skelton could beat him, even Sprott!!!!

Perhaps I'm being too optimistic there, but you see where I'm coming from.

I'm not a fan of Ruiz, but i bet he's still champion on Sunday, late round KO for Ruiz

Ruiz is ugly but can be pretty effective, I think he'll beat Golota late.

And he'd hammer the hell out of Sprott or Skelton come on.

I think Skelton would probably go the distance in an exceedingly ugly fight. Sprott would probably get done all over again like he did by Skelton.

Ruiz is effective at what he does, but he does get away with too much, we saw how ineffective he was when Joe Cortez prevented him from mauling and holding against Jones.

I think Golota will be too strong for Ruiz to maul on the inside, and his workrate and handspeed will be too much for Ruiz, whose workrate is very poor in most contests.

I really doubt it will be shown on Eurosport, Team Palle dont have any TV contract with Eurosport. It would be great if it did, it certainly cant be any worse that the two undercard fight their showed from France on Saturday. But I guess I have to get the PPV to the see the card.

If you look at Golata's record, then the last time he had someone putting pressure on him he quit, that was against Grant.

He is a strong fighter but has a weakness in his mental approach, Ruiz will apply more pressure and Golata will fold again.

Well, we'll just have to wait and see.

I'm going to the Hennessy show on Friday and whilst it's always a bonus to see a European title fight, Witter isn't the reason I'm going.

Looking forward to :

Barrett v Bosworth

Sparticus v Haymer

Thirlwall v Monaghan

David Walker v anyone ! :D

Would somebody in the know tel me which of those fights i'd be able to see in Germany?

I'm off to Berlin for the weekend and if there's a chance of catching the heavyweights i'll take it. Any sports bar recommendations gratefully received too.

nady no? Anyways, dont mean to be an arse. I think Ruiz will get by Golota fairly easily, hes just going to frustrate the hell out of the big guy, then Andrew will go bonkers.

Whoops, Nady sorry....

I think Golota may have sorted his mind out, his conduct was pretty good against Byrd, who is pretty frustrating to fight. Maybe he's not on Roid's any more, but he seems a lot calmer.
