They look weight divisions apart to me, Hatton looks quite slim for once and Oliveira looks a bit more muscular and bigger...i am starting to warm to the upset a bit personally. Maybe on cuts perhaps.

I think we could be in for a good fight tonight, both the fighters look in great shape but I go for Hattons youth to prevail and take him for a late stoppage win. We should be seeing plenty of action with these two guys high workrate.

At least that is what my head and heart say, but I've been getting strange feelings about this fight all week that Hatton loses on a cut.

I'm not sure, but I don't think Ricky has been cut since the plastic surgery after the Thaxton fight.

Yeh, your right...anyone know is Mick Williamson in the corner tonight? or is he part of the Danny Williams team?

I took a look at Oliveiras record and it appears he has been involved in the 2nd and 3rd highest ‘total punches thrown’ fights in history!

He is also a Welterweight now, not Ricky’s usual blown-up Lightweight main course.

On the other hand Oliveira bears the more familiar characteristics of a Hatton opponent, those being that he is 36 years old and independently ranked only 28th at Welterweight.

I think anytime Hatton's in with someone throwing punches back, there's always the chance of cuts. Not sure it's a problem you can fix for good.
Seem to recall Alan Minter went a few fights without cutting, and everyone thought the problem had gone - but he was then cut to ribbons against Hagler.
Of course, it was Hagler he was in there with.....

Hatton's usual referee Mickey Vann has got the call I take it?

If Ricky is cut, his eyebrown will probably have to fall off before they stop it.

I know this probably seems more like Stu's territory, but I had a boxing related dream last night.

Hatton had Oliveira hurt and charged in, but got nailed by a very quick right hand. Although he didn't go down, he was staggering around in la-la land. The ref stopped the fight after Oliveira landed another big right. I knew it had to be a dream though, Micky Vann wasn't the ref, it was some bloke I'd never seen before. Pretty meaningless I know.

Back to reality. I was very surprised to see how good Oliveira looked at the weigh-in. It looked to me as if he'd made the weight very easily. I'd still pick Hatton, but I now think it might be much more interesting than I first believed.

what with people dreaming about boxing never happened to me all i dream about is sweeties :P

Hatton will never lose on a cut on a SN show. They let him go on in the Thaxton fight for 11 rounds with one of the worst cuts in memory - seen fights stopped for a lot less.

I had a dream Mike Tyson came to my house the other night.....very odd.

To throw that number of punches they must be arm punches, like Manuel Medina does. Also none of the records say how many of the punches thrown actually landed.

If Ricky can get him against the ropes I don't think it will last very long.

Hatton looks drawn?! Olivera looks DEAD. I never saw him looks that bad.

Fight just finished, suberb performance from Hatton remeniscent of th Phillips fight.......but, something has to be done about this reffing situation; Micky Vann let's Hatton get away with murder and THATS'S why he always fights at home. In an American ring the action would be stopped every ten seconds to caution Hatton for shoving or holding behind the head. tap tap shove, tap tap BANG! is what Hatton does.
Then again, I don't blame Hatton for getting away with what he can, but it's a recurring theme with SN's guys.
Hope I'm not coming across as too critical because I really think Ricky looked the business tonight.
